Adnrew, I'm working on a skin, I was wondering if you'd mind giving me a hand (lead me to water). There are some code issues I have and the styles I have such a difficult time with editing.

I keep getting lost in the style manager and what exactly effects what. Sometimes I get it... other times I get lost and I can't figure out how to modify a specific part.

This is the skin so far.

I haven't started on the images yet, but know exactly what I'll do with them and how to apply most of them.

I would I change the gold to green :) ?

buffness 10-05-2005 02:41 AM

how do you install this by the way?

Here you go - This should give you a pretty good idea on how to install styles:

Once you upload the images goto Styles and Templates >> Download / Upload Styles in your AdminCP.

On the Download / Upload Styles page click the Browse button next to "EITHER upload the XML file from your computer" and find the "black_and_gold.xml" and open it.

Finally press the Import button and it should do the rest of the work for you. If you have any other questions or can't get that to work let me know and I'll try and help as best as I can.

Very nice style. I won't use it on my site, but it made me smile. Very clean, nice antialiasing, and wonderfully crisp simultaneously.

Makes me think of bumblebees without the use of an egregious amount of yellow or striping that might drive the eyes bananas (thanks Gwen for the permanent spelling of banana that will never ever leave me alone...).

Well done.

**I was a fan of Edge -- used it on my Online Game Clan's forums... wonder if it will see an advanced 3.5 version down the pipe!**

It's currently in the works as are a couple of new styles - However, I've been swamped recently with some of my regulars needing their sites upgraded to 3.5 so I haven't had much time to continue working on them. I'll send an update to all the 3.0.X Edge users when the 3.5 version is released though.

No rush, but I wanted to check in on the status of the icons.

Sorry mate - Been swamped with clients recently and haven't had much time for my styles. I'll try and get a new set uploaded this weekend - Will send you a PM when I do.

An absoloutely awesome style and thanks for giving us the PSD options of customising :)

Just one quick query - when I try to alter the width to 70%, all the forums indent further, to around 50%, looks a little strange as the header and footer are longer .... any way I can fix this? Other than that, thank you so much for such an excellent piece of work!!!

Andrew 10-08-2005 03:03 PM

I'll take a look and see if I can't dig up what that problem is - I know you can set it to a fixed width in pixels just fine but I never tried any other percentages .... whoops ... :D

EDIT: There indeed was a problem but I fixed it and uploaded a new archive containing an updated .XML file.
