very nice :) i installed this, adding it to newthread, and quick reply :)

works for all of the above, so anybody asking if it works, all you have to do is repeate the steps in the txt file for all the templates you want to do this mod too

As psyblast said it can be added to newthread and q-reply in the same way as newreply. I did add a <br> and retain the:
PHP Code:

<a href="javascript:checklength(document.vbform);">[check message length]</a

that way anyone who's browser doesn't utilize the count, progress bar or whatever can still check message length somehow. I may also add a note about it not working in all browsers. How to do it in a clean way is what I am trying to figure out now. Nice addition though!

as far as I knew this could only be edited threw php but looks like I was wrong..

It works perfectly fine for me, make sure you don't have any hacks installed.

I made a little variable to not show this line in Netscape or another Browser.... only Ie.
