The "new" one is just a smaller version. By smaller I mean, a smaller hard drive. (512mb and 1gb) There's nothing advanced about it, it's just for people who need less space and therefore, a smaller player.

But it doesn't have a screen or HUD. So you can't select the tracks you want - it's all shuffled.

The way they're marketing it as a shuffling mp3 player is a bit silly. Most mp3 players have a shuffle facility :)

Don't get an iPod, get a Zen, they can support wma's, word docs, aac and other music file types while iPods cant! And they haev firmware upgrades quite often as well as great sound quality

Size does matter, I can fit an iPod in my pocket, I can't fit a zen in there :)

I have my wonderful 10GB 3rd generation, and i am buying a new one once pioneer comes out with their adapter for my car ^^. use the old one in the car new one i will have on me

I went out and got one of these archos jukeboxe's a few years ago 20gb, it cost me a few hundred pounds but it was my birthday and thought I would treat myself, otherwise I wound'nt have spend so much cash on one.

The jukebox is very heavy and battery life is about 1 hour its not very practical if your on the move.

The ipod which I dont have is much lighter and the battery life a lot better, but if you want to know the truth I dont see the point of carry about a ipod that holds 1000's of songs I mean your not going to listen to them all in one day.

I have a small mp3 player that holds about about 100 songs and can be used as a usb flash drive, its good to hold saved work on it and weighs very little.

If anything happend to the jukebox I would get a ipod but morely for data backup at home, I dont think I would take it out with me, except maybe in the car if it can be interfaced with a car stereo.
