Ok... let's say that I use a heavily modified 2.3.0 in which I have applied my home-made patches and stuff. What is the proper way to update to 2.3.1 without the need of... re-applying the patches? The problem is that, because most of them are mine, I don't know which is my own code and what I will have to alter again :)
On ikonboard and phpBBhacks.com there was some tutorials on step by step update of every single php file & template. Now what? And what is that minor security bug they are talking about ? :) Thanks! |
there is a tut somewhere on here on upgrading hacked boards:p

pie, I guess you are reffering to this thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=38545 :) Araxis could be a possible solution, but a manual list of changes should be even greater :) Anyway, I will try it tommorow and tell you what's happened.

You could pay me to do it but it would have to be $230 to make up for the cost of my XBox :p
Jelsoft offers an upgrade service for $135, but naturally the service doesn't allow for hacked installations. |

Which is why the $135 is absolutely ridiculous. People would be better off sitting there and learning how to upgrade an unhacked board for 10 hours rather than pay that much. I mean the upgrades are self explanatory as it is anyway. |
2.3.2 is out now

An upgrade using Araxis Merge or Beyond Compare at the very most should not take more than 2 hours. It pays to learn how to do it, as upgrades will always occur, and you need to keep using the latest version because of security.
