I have no idea where you get a figure of "30,000+ sites hacked" from, but I seriously doubt that many even exist, let alone got hacked.

Hooks were removed in May 2012, and obviouly it was decided before that, pretty much since vB5 development was started afaik.

Fun fact : The replacement 'Extensions' were originally called API Filters.

Well that's apparent Paul, "of course" being my only defense :p.

On a serious note though, would be nice to see them back and no clue why they were removed to begin with, if they had a valid reason I'd love to hear it.
