Very strange this about the load, 'cause the mod do only one query per thread page for loading the box with voters.

About the button colors: voters take in directly the vote has given (+1 or -1), 'cause the counter refreshing directly.
The "logic" of changing buttons' color are the same for each thumb type:
- When click thumbs up-> green button takes to grey & red button be the same
- When click thumbs down-> red button takes to grey & green button be the same
- When you have no thumb a post or you have remove your thumb, twice buttons has their colors.
- Grey color means that you cannot push a button.
Do you mean that the thumbs box doesn't appear in postbit? Do you have done the necessary template edits? (read the Installation document inside the *zip file).

No, its there but i.E. in the Center it shows 200 thx from the old hack, in the postpox is all at 0

The Center shows only the latest 20 thumbs. Do you mean that you import from Post Thanks, but all rating boxes (=included the posts which thanked with Post Thanks), has "0" thumbs?

If you talking about the statistics, after an importing, you should run the recounters (see the documentation of importers). Finally, do a clean install of Thumbs Up? and try to run the importer again.

I did that, but the correct numbers of thanks only shows in the Center not in the postbox.

Normally, when you click the link of post in T. Center, you're get to the corresponding post. Look at the urls you're visiting from T. Center. Has the same postid?

There is no need to have the red thumb down to appear when it's completely disabled. It's smaller, compact and I like to have this as well.
