As far as the RULES link, I suggest adding a link to the rules page, to the word RULES in the existing text,

Well its looks like you have the correct code in your shorter version, Probably an issue on my end.
Any suggestions on tracing it down?
I would really love to get this mod to work.

what happens for the two email options: with this, will new members automatically receive emails from admins and other members?

Yeah, honestly, i hate sites that make me fill out 100 fields to register. Most of the time i avoid registering just for that reason
