I can handle rejection fine if it's based on logic. Give me a good reason not to do this-
A security issue (though this doesn't seem to be the case)
It would break something else (also not true)
It would make life harder for someone (again not true)
But if any of the above were true I would take it as a good reason and go about my day. Instead the only reason I'm given is 'because it's always been done that way' and that is NOT a reason at all.
Unless a new point is raised I'm done commenting on this, my position has been made known and I've given several reasons why it's a good idea and no one has given a good reason why it's a bad idea. Period.
As for .rar files I couldn't care less... zips are much more popular and do the same thing so I don't see a need but if you want to give the mod authors the choice, that's fine too- I'd never use it because there are lots of people who can unzip files (it's built into windows) who would need to have their hands held to unrar a file.
