Some notes: by default the mod shows the latest updated threads, so if someone posts in a thread it will show in the new threads again. And there are no options to select the forums you want threads to display from. So look out with your admin/mod forums.

I don't know of the original author is planning on adding those things, so if someone needs it I will post my modified version here (with latest added threads and choose forumids to display).
