Since AMD bought out ATI, it hasn't been the same, or as good. I was a die-hard ATI user until then.

yes Bobby, i know this ... :) right now ATI have a big gap against nVidia exactly like Intel vs. AMD ... but something is moving ... :)

Boofo 06-24-2008 06:35 AM

ATI will never be what it once was under the tutelage of AMD. AMD can't even keep up their own image like they used to, no way they can bring the old ATI back.

The HD 3870 they brought out a while back is pretty good, and they just released AMD Radeon HD 4850 - which is really no performance difference. Hopefully, the HD 4870 series they are bringing out won't fail to impress...

NVidia is too far ahead of them now, and has been for quite a while. ATI is basically dust in the wind.

And a great song! ;)

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I like both, but aren't prepared to pay senseless money for a graphics card that is only going to be sub-standard in 6 months time, and all for what? To be number one in the benchmarks? No thanks!

It's just the same concept as Intel and AMD...Intel is waaayy too far in front, and I can't see AMD catching them, especially since Intel are now on 45nm.
