I just compared his postbit with a standard vb postbit (or rather, postbit_legacy) and there are only very minor changes.

If you fill the text area in with long sentences, does this problem still occur? I'm thinking it is because the table is defined as 100%, but only the first column width is defined (as 175), the second column is not. This allows the second column to be any width it chooses to be, especially if there is hardly anything in the column - like in your picture.

As I mentioned on yours site alignment issues will exist because of the left and right columns thoughout the site. What's occuring is postbit content is forcing the Username column to collapse even with a "nowrap" insert after width="175". As a side-effect, you'll get a horizontal scrollbar too. With smaller resolutions the content will indeed squeeze.

One option is to set an overflow in messagearea column to prevent any content exceeding the column's width. However, because the layout is a 95% width setting for those who have wider screen resolutions there will be blank areas in the message column.
