Speed isn't everything, my 1.8ghz AMD 64 makes my P4 3.06 look like a snail.

Is there a great difference with a 64bit if so are all software backwards compatiable?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ @ 2.01 Ghz with 2GB of RAM

It makes a P4 at 3.5ghz look like super crap.
