BTW: It's still on the portal page. You get an access denied message.

I'm sure one of the Admins will address this when they see it :)

@LiveWire - That is not the collective view of the staff here at this site...

It has been removed, that is all there is to it - Whether the HOTM thread is restored in the next few days with the questionable modifications removed from the Poll or not, depends on what we decide to do with it as a staff team - However, for now, to prevent future complaints it has been removed...

er - why not just remove the 'deadly, man eating, flesh rotting virus ridden' hacks in question and replace them with the 'runners' up?
Lumping them in to next month will bump legitiamte nominees. This way gives other users a chance to get some of that .org love thats been going around lately.

lol your getting more complants by removing it. I take back what I said about one hack breaking the new rule. It was 2 hacks. Never the less, both hacks were posted and created and made it to the poll before this went into effect. So since your just being fair and all, are you going to pull Atakan KOC HOTM reward now for last month?

Sounds really fair to me... Are you going to compensate us for the days lost? I've been trying to get my hack into the HOTM and I finally do, and now all this happens.

Chris M 05-15-2006 04:57 PM

That is possibly what will happen, however while the thread remains active and the decision made, more and more votes are made for the hacks for removal, and the runners-up then have a disadvantaged start a couple of days later...

This way, if the thread is restored with the runners-up, we have a fairly more even keel of voting :)

If the thread is restored, you will have lost maybe 2 or 3 days of voting - At least nobody can continue to vote on the Poll meaning you are disadvantaged...

If the thread is not restored, you will be added to the following month's poll...

Adding me to the next months polls is unfair to the users who could have made it in that months poll. You don't seem to understand. Some of us users create a hack in hopes to make it to the poll. Since this is one of the only thing we have that gives use a little spotlight. To just take things down without informing us and hurting others chance to win or get nominated, is just wrong.

Why hasnt the staff did what they did last time and remove the hacks from the poll? Why should those hacks even be penilised for a rule they had no clue about?

quoted for truth

So you would rather we left it and then tore the thread and votes apart and have the community and hackers in uproar, therefore belittling and making any victory of a deserved winner almost seem like the others were cheated???

As I said, this HOTM may be restored with the runners-up - It is not gone, simply removed from the public eye for the time being...

Hey, I may be the voice of decent here, but it seems to me that we had a big deal a little while ago about someone linking something in there sig directly to the install button.

It seems logical to me that if such a thing was frowned on, then code in a hack that does the same would also be frowned on. I'm not sure "didn't break an existing rule" is accurate.
