Sounds like one of the services you are trying to ping is timing you out. Remove them and add them back one by one as you test to find the offending service.

Thinking out loud. It might be preferable to run this as a scheduled task instead of when a new thread is posted. It could be set up so that the time the script was last run is stored, and every time it's run, it checks to see if any new threads have been posted in forums that are set up to ping. If there are, it would ping the servers and log a report about the status of the pings.

The best bet is to find a ping service that automatically pings other services for you like pingomatic. My problem with pingomatic has always been that it never seems to ping anything. |
It should also be noted that this ONLY PINGS on NEW THREADS, not on replies.

Great mod. I've just installed it. At the moment it just pings technorati. Are there any other servers you normally ping? If so what are the addresses I need to enter.
Thanks! |
I just had to disable this mod :(
When I make a new post, instead of redirecting to the thread, it just loads a blank page... Am I doing something wrong? Chris |
It could be the update service you are using is timing out.

I'd like to install this hack, but had a question on the install instructions. The TXT file reads:
