Since we seem to get threads going out of control (intentionally??) or turn into personal flamings, i think we should consider changing tactics on this. Maybe locking the threads is not the best solution, maybe we should start deleting posts without warning or placing a time limited ban upon some troublemakers.

I agree. Last time I reported someone calling me names or personally attacking me, it got ignored. This time I shot back since they are letting things slide.

That is the best resolution. A lot of members are seeking the opinions of others without the constant banter of derogatory remarks.

Lets keep it simple... State what you use and what features made your mind up. Do not respond directly to others on this thread. Take it to pm.

All reports are monitored, and action will be taken if it seems needed. They might be handled in public or by PM, depending on what the moderator handling the report think will be the most effective.

I don't understand why it's not possible to compare both hacks in a fair and respectful way without pissing each others. Give the troublemakers 1 day vb.org holidays and it will be getting better. Thanks

You misunderstood my post, perhaps because it was a bit sarcastic. The fact is that many users are reporting uninstall/reinstall/upgrade problems with v3arcade. To simply say "uninstall it like all other hacks" doesn't address the obvious inherent issues that this hack has.

I think that "freezing" threads is a much better idea than locking them. Freeze the thread for 12-24 hours, along with a note saying everyone should "chill out" is much better, since it is frustrating to return to a thread, and see it locked, with no ability to be ablt o ever respond to a valid point, due to the fact that it got heated up.

Ah, but many other hacks have install/uninstall/upgrade issues from time to time. So, Paul was correct. You uninstall it like any other mod. First, you get a clue about PHP ;) Then, you undo the things that need to be done to get rid of the mod.

(Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

The comparison was between the two arcade hacks- one of them has uninstall issues, and the other does not, in my experience, which is what I stated. There is no need to make remarks like "get a clue about PHP," etc., that is simply flaming/bashing and I am surprised to see it come from you.

v3Arcade - no doubt about it.

Probably because vbulletin.org has such a wide and diverse member base - everyone is bound to have their own opinions. What peeves me off however, is when people post inaccurate statements about either arcade script. Both authors have taken a considerable amount of time and effort in bringing us a stable and feature-rich solution for our flash gaming needs.
