Well, I renamed index.php to home.php and it seems to work so far. If I shouldnt have did this, someone plese tell me. LOL
Thanks. |
Installed on several web sites now, with little differences between them.
fitnessgeared.com steroidology.com competitivemuscle.com bodybuilding4life.com board1.mantisforums.com from version 3.6 to 4.2 and with the archive addon. I definitly prefer vB Home over vB Portal or any other frontpage, it is easy to install and easy to modify and works with multiple styles. By the way, are there any additional modules out for integration? Like the shoutbox, or the weather box or a calendar or some other fun stuff ? |
I have a board that users pay to use and we set up their log-in (Which is rather Lengthy and hard to remember, but informative).
Anyway, does anyone know... if I install this on the board will they have to log-in since it is a new page, or will the cookies remember them from the forum? Teh reason that I ask is a lot of my users are not computer savvy and if I add this and they have to log-in the 1st time that they come to the new homepage it will be mass hysteria. thanks for any input. |
onced logged into the main page or forums, its the same. You only log in once.
|
I understand that, but I was wondering if after I add it they will have to log-in to it the first time they visit it.
Thanks for the response. |
no, if they are already logged into the forums, they will not have to login to the main page.
|
OK.. thats what I needed to know! Thanks!

How do I allow HTML in the News section?? I allowed it in the specified forum, but the articles just display the code.. www.orderofronin.com/main.php for a reference..
Help? |
Great hack, Teck.

It would also save users the trouble of searching through 200 pages of posts, trying to find the answer to a problem sooo many other people have also suffered through. After going through that hassle myself I found 99% of the posts matching my search terms were just redirects to search the thread, heh. Again, excellent hack as always. |
Since this is fifty-nine pages long, I'm going to ask this question anyway and hope I dont' get blasted for not reading all fifty-nine pages for my answer.
I have my forum on a subdomain...how difficult would it be for VBHome to be intergrated with my current forum? Can it work with two seperate databases? |
