Is there a way to make this hack recognize {imagesfolder} and other small things like that?
|
TECK, first off, thanks for creating this hack. I'd really like to install this and check it out.
I followed the install step-by-step, but I get the following error when hitting index.php: ----- Database error in vbHome 2.3.0: Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS total FROM thread WHERE forumid IN( ) AND dateline>1052778722 mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near ') AND dateline>1052778722 ' at line 4 mysql error number: 1064 ----- After running your install script, everything looked good. I got the feedback that it was updating the necessary tables, and everything was a "success". However, along with the error above, I don't even get a vbHome (lite) options area on vBulletin Admin Control Panel. I'm assuming I have to set some things up, before I can actually hit the index.php with success, but I can't without any vbHome (lite) options area on vBulletin Admin Control Panel. Any ideas? I'd really like to test this out, thanks. |
Please search this thread or the support forums for an answer. It has answered zillions of times...

I'm excited to get this running. I've gone through the instructions but i'm getting this error. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Warning: main(./forums/admin/config.php) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /home/mijohnst/public_html/forums/global.php on line 744 Fatal error: main() [function.main]: Failed opening required './forums/admin/config.php' (include_path='') in /home/mijohnst/public_html/forums/global.php on line 744 |
Edit: problem solved, I'm an idiot.

TECK, thanks for your patience, I got it initially installed now. :)
The thing that really threw me were the install instructions and references made to "vbHome Page". The instructions say: "You will see a new group created by the installer, called vbHome Page. The following options are available:" Actually, in 4.2 it's just called "Front page", not "vbHome page". So after the install, I would do a find in my browser for "vbhome" in the Admin CP page, and it kept coming up with nothing. It's actually called "Front Page". Doh! So for any idiots like me out there who got confused on the install, that's the reason. Thanks again for your patience, TECK, and I look forward to customizing this hack for my forum. |
Hi all,
will this hack allow me to add a vertical column for news headlines (with links to articles in various online magazines) to the forums main page? I'd like to keep everything else as is, just add the column on the right side... Thanks, TMM |
Where/How do I adjust colors, styles, css, etc?? My www.orderofronin.com/index.php is pointing to a style sheet that does not exist, yet within the php script it has tons of style settings that I would like to alter? Where?
EDIT: Found the templates. :P |
Ok.. next question... It's installed.. www.orderofronin.com/main.php No matter what option I choose in the control panel, it never shows the user as being logged in, ever on the main page.. so... ??
EDIT: Ok, fixed it, cookie settings weren't set to the domain, just the forum. :lick: |
Ok, I am a total newbie to this. But I have a question.
I want to install vbLite to my forums, but I do not want to put it on my main URL. I have a flash intro that I use and I want to keep it. If I follow the instructions on vbLite, it routs to vblite and bypasses my index.html. So, I created a folder called main on my main page, and uploaded all the files there, but its not matching up with what is in the 3 vblite files (since I do not have them on my main url) I know vblite is fine and working, becuase I closed my site for a min, and put everything on the main page, and it was all there, but then you missed my intro. Please help me figure out how to change the code so it looks for everything in the right place. Many thanks, and sorry if this is a stupid question. I am still learning. |
