I've been testing something that I think I've got working on my installation. More testing is required to be sure. Check this thread: http://www.cogonline.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51831
Those are all YouTube videos posted using their regular YouTube link. I finally took the time to look at this JW Player and see what it could do. This definition is using the Bekle skin. Attachment 110047 Attachment 110048 I wanted to gauge interest in seeing a handful of definitions incorporate this. Likely, I'll only be able to do YouTube and a few Local Hosted definitions. The purpose of this is so you have have your own player for your site and you can download your own skin or create your own (if you know anything about designing Flash Players). Theoretically, I should be able to do this for most flash videos, but I still have some research to do. There's a Silverlight Player that will let you play WMV, which I'm hoping I can get the WMV definition to handle. But like I said, I still have to peck around this thing to see it's capable of within the AME modification. NOTE: These WOULD NOT be offered instead of the definitions in this thread. Since extra files and instructions are required I'd be offering this in it's OWN modification thread. Those of you already running the JW Player could probably easily integrate this. Those not, I could give a basic tutorial of what to do. Here's the link to their Skins Gallery for you to get a better idea of what's up: http://www.longtailvideo.com/addons/skins |

No problem. Just didn't know if anybody had reported this particular problem when you try to preview the thread. Thanks.

I'm not entirely sure I'm going to keep the def, unless I can find a way to use the validation RegEx. Right now it would work, but it displays the little film icon, which doesn't quite make much sense for Wikipedia. Maybe I can cajole The Geek to make a minor update to the icon in 3.8, even though he's moved on to AME 3.

ok guys i like to have a justin live brodcast defenition
links like http://fr.justin.tv/saidfoot2 and http://en.justin.tv/saidfoot2 and http://it.justin.tv/saidfoot2 means defrent lang and http://justin.tv/mychannelname and http://www.justin.tv/mychannelname thnk for the great work you guys have here |
There already are three Justin.TV definitions. Two for Live Broadcasts and one for Clips. Although, I had no idea there were foriegn language versions of Justin.TV when I made them, but you can easily modify the defs to accomodate them without waiting for me to do an update. Simply open the definitions and change the www in the Regular Expression to [\w]+. That should allow multilingual embedding.

They worked fine before this update, now i cant get Game Trailers to work.? What is different about the game trailers def.? |

I tested a URL on your site just now that is converting fine on my board, so only thing I can try now if for you to give me a temp admin account and I can try to troubleshoot on the backend. |
Nevermind i got it..
Apparently the other admin thought the one titled "Game Trailers (old)" needed to be deleted. lol Thanks for your help.. By the way is there any way to fix the RSS feed issue.? RSS feed posts it like this - http://www.gametrailers.com/player/60953.html?r=1 But we have to manually go in & delete the end - "?r=1" Any thoughts on how to get them posted correctly so we dont have to edit them.? |

Thanks for fix goear.com's urls, but doesn't works with all symbols of urls.
Example. http://www.goear.com/listen/e201e44/...f-&-mitiska-&- Thanks anyway ;) |
I need help. Unfortunately I am not good with "regular expressions". We have our own video player and it has embed capability. The videos can reside on any number of URL's so basically I want to be able to search for anything that contains "ri=XXX" where XXX is a numeric number to:
<center><iframe src="http://www.veepvideo.com/default/embed.e2s?ri=XXX&autoplay=0" width="324" height="364" frameborder="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no"></iframe></center> If anyone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. |
Anybody??

I've seen that there are several Amazon videos available for some Amazon link items s well -- is there a way we can embed those videos too, or will that cause a conflict with the other Amazon link definitions?
The share links for videos go to an Amazon permalink, so I'm not sure if there's a way to make a definition for it. edit: Ah, I did find this link about embedding Amazon videos: http://www.thepcguild.com/2009/12/fi...amazon-videos/ I will request it through the proper channel... |
It would conflict with any other Amazon definition you'd have active. It comes down to the fact that there are no unique qualities to a URL with a video on it to differentiate it from any other Amazon product URL. So even if you decided to just have a definition that converted Amazon videos, it would still try to convert all the other pages into videos, too.

Hi DJ,
You answered my question about embedding MP3 attachments in Geeks thread and I thought I would follow up here. Even though I am using fb 4.0 my goal is to have an attached MP3 file play inline. What I have done is taken some of what you had written and worked created a new definition that looks like this: HTML Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> |
Quote:
If this has changed in vB4, and you have some way to distinguish file types (simply having the extension .MP3 in the URL would be enough, really) then you could get it to work. Only $p1 isn't used in AME 3. Double check one of the definitions, but I believe it's something like {vb:raw:something}. It just slips my mind at the moment. |
is there a way to add space between word "YouTube" and title of the video?
so it will be "YouTube - Title" istead of "YouTube- Title" |

I want people to be able to enter a place name in a BBCODE and have the Google Maps for that location displayed inline, or alternatively use another AME definition to do this. I tried to get this to work with a BB code but it turned out to be too complex and I'm not good with Regular Expressions in AME.....

Blip is giving me errors
Code:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '(' in /legendaryrockers.com/forums/includes/ame_bbcode.php(323) : regexp code on line 1 |

It parses fine for me, but for some reason, it didn't on the initial try. Try again and let's see if it's just an error caused by something at the site itself. |
Yup, that's the link.
It's not working for me. I've tried it a couple of times and it kicks back the error each time. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for that might be conflicting? |

Hey DJ.. It's me again with another suggestion for an embed :P
YouCastr.com - (Ive got a couple others, too, but I won't trouble you if you're too busy!) These are great because they allow you to post Live casts as part of an RSS feed.... Hope all is well for you, too, my friend! Jacob |
schlottkej, you should submit the request for the new definition on the official request site listed in the first post: http://www.cogonline.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=880
DJ, any update on the Blip.tv? |

You don't have admin access at the new site (LegendaryRockers.com), but I can grant you access later today if you have the time to help. :)
