Sure. Everything is easily editable. You can edit the phrases and images as you wish. You can also edit the templates if you need.

subnet_rx 05-25-2007 01:13 PM

What if you want the template edits to be custom and don't want the automatic edits? I've had the buttons before the quote button since this hack came out, now it's behind.

so it wasnt just me. hope this can be fixed soon then, as its occuring on my forums still, and i pointed it out over a month ago as well. thanks.

Doglet 05-26-2007 08:34 AM

3.6.7-PL1 - Post Thanks 6.2. I am getting the list of who gave thanks after every post, even though it is set to the first post only for those forums. Also, the Thaks button is visible on every post as well, not just the first. Any ideas?

It is also doubling and tripling up on all the information in the postbit?

Omega409 05-26-2007 01:25 PM

I have the same problem! Also after deinstalling some SQL error?s like:

I'm having a little problem... In the first post, there's one "thanks" button... In the second, there are two, in the third, three and so on.... So, the last post in one page looks like this:

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2424/imagen1zb7.png

Each button appears to be for each previous posts [ post_thanks.php?do=post_thanks_add&p=1227165 | post_thanks.php?do=post_thanks_add&p=1227177 | etc ]

If I set "Only First Post" option to YES, the buttons apear just right, but ALL of them are linked to thanks the FIRST post, of course [ e.x: post_thanks.php?do=post_thanks_add&p=1227177 ]

What could be wrong?

--

Another question, would it be possible to "search" all the thanked posts of ONE particular thread?

Something like: "Search this thread -> Show all thanked posts"

HHU 05-26-2007 08:47 PM

Abe...

I have my first post set up with the vbulletin.org layout so it shows on every page of the thread.

If I wanted to have a count displaying in my postbit of:

"Thanks received in this thread:"

How would I go about doing that..

So that it would only display the thanks that was given to you in that thread for each individual thread you have.

So if Thread 1 had 5 Thanks in it, then in the postbit it would show "Thanks Recieved in this Thread: 5"

And if Thread 2 had 8 Thanks in it, then it would show "Thanks Recieved in this Thread: 8"

Thanks.

OK, I fixed this problem by installing the extra patch that is supplied with Post Thanks 6.2 - I realise now this is because of a bug in vBulletin 3.6.7. So for those having the problem of multiple entry stuff, use the xml patch file also available here.

Doglet 05-26-2007 11:35 PM

I want to get rid of the Thanks: X
Recieved X Thanks in Y Threads stuff from the postbit. I find I cannot alter the postbit to do this as it is not in the postbit.

Where do I need to look for where this comes from and how do I stop it being added.

I love the program, but my users don't want it in the postbit and neither do I.

eNforce 05-27-2007 12:00 AM

Automatic template edit isn't working on my custom templates. Any instructions on manual install would be great :)

Try post_thanks_postbit_info
i`ve tested it by deleting all in post_thanks_postbit_info and there was no errormessage, maybe that`s it what you`re looking for

Installed and working great Thanks :)

andrewr 05-27-2007 10:55 AM

Thanks, installed and working great :)

One question though - How do I get the Thanks part to look like this but with the username etc. on the left like here

Thanks :)

AndyA 05-28-2007 12:09 AM

I've just installed this addon and it doesn't seem to work correctly, in any thread each shown post has an extra 'thanked field shown, see image below.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ard/thanks.gif

Post 6 will show 6 lines of 'Thanked in # posts'
Post 7 will show 7 lines of 'Thanked in # posts'

Also it doesn't show at all in one of my purchased skins ?

www.throttlejockey.co.uk

AndyA 05-28-2007 01:08 AM

Fixed the multiple Thanks but no good with my purchased style, the Thanks addon doesn't show at all, any ideas ?

Cheers

You have to update your templates so they included the latest $template_hook variables.

Not sure your question. One is the legacy version and one is the standard.

Yes, Doglet, remove all code from the post_thanks_postbit_info template and save it.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

What I mean is, is it possible to have the bit where it says "The following users say thank you to x for this post:" going across the bottom of the whole post rather than sqaushed up on the left?

You can edit the post_thanks_postbit_legacy template as you see fit.

Robi_Kenobi 05-28-2007 01:24 PM

Hello,

i have a question about the reputation function. If you say "Thanks" and get reputation points for that. Does that also relay on the "rules of reputation".

So i mean, does it prevent two users allways thanking each other for every post, to boost their reputation.

Do you have to "thank you" x other persons, until the reputations adds on to your score?

Dont think so.

Thank you, I manually added these in my templates and your mod works wonderfully. I prefer to use the postbit thank you template in the postbit_legacy, it looks better.

Hornstar 05-29-2007 05:28 AM

I have a member on my site who says he cant thank users. when he clicks on the thanks button it takes him to a page that says " you do not have permission to access this page........"
He is in only one usergroup, so I have gone through the thanks settings, there are no banned usergroups, i have gone through permissions, and usergroup manager, and there are no settings for thanks in those.

I have never had a problem before upgrading to version 6.x

It seems like this could be a serious problem, and hopefully you will be able to fix it.

Thanks.

BBF 05-29-2007 11:46 AM

after update to 6.2 from 6.0GOLD i can't see the thanks button
any help?

Franky45 05-29-2007 02:02 PM

After that Thanks
I get the following message:

Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /includes/functions_post_thanks.php (Zeile 183)

How can i fix it?

Thanks

snake-boy 05-29-2007 03:08 PM

I think I'm having the same problem, I upgraded from 5.3 and thanks button has vanished!

I hoped installing the fix attached to this thread would possibly solve it, but nope. The options are available in my admincp to configure, but no sign of a thank you button anywhere on the forums.. :(

Help!?

Edit: Just FYI, I'm running 3.6.7

WAHMama 05-29-2007 04:42 PM

Is there a way to change the text for the Thanks? What I mean is not all posts are being thanked for being "helpful" sometimes you just want to say Thanks because someone said soemthing nice about a photo you posted or a comment you made. I looked in the admin options and didn't see that, so I was hoping there was a place I could change that

Stromba 05-29-2007 06:56 PM

Have upload everything and dont see the Thanks button on the forum..???
Use the latest version VB 3.6.7 PL1

Aimee1969 05-29-2007 08:04 PM

Thanks it is working. I figured out my problem was I can't thank myself (duh) so when I looked at other members post I figured out it was installed right. lol

snake-boy 05-29-2007 10:01 PM

Well, you CAN thank yourself. You just need to enable it in the options...

I have checked and re-checked all steps of the installation and am certain everything is correct, yet there's still no sign of the thanks button after upgrading from 5.3 to 6.2.

If this isn't fixed really soon I guess I will have to roll back to 5.3 and do all those damn template edits manually (again) :(

Abe1 - please help us figure out what's wrong?

yaoren 05-30-2007 01:51 AM

Hey Abe, was wondering if you could help me out with an issue I'm having with thanks button. I know another member asked this as well and didn't see a reply as to how to fix it. I'm basically ending up with multiple thanks buttons with each reply on the thread. Was wondering how I could fix that issue. Thank you in advance! ^^

snake-boy 05-30-2007 01:11 PM

I've had to uninstall 6.2 and revert to 6.0 Gold. :(

Although the thanks button had reappeared now and appears to be working fine, but all my user's thank counts are GONE and previously thanked threads now have no record of these thanks.

I figured I'd solve this by simply copying the post_thanks table from my backup in it's entirety, but although the table now exists and contains all the data it did when I was running V5.3, the thank you counts are still not being recognized. ?

Did the format change between V5.3 and V6.0 Gold? Don't tell me I have to roll back ANOTHER version to V5.3... I'll be right back where I started :(

And I thought upgrading was a good idea.... <sigh>

my_aly 05-30-2007 01:39 PM

thanks.. install (:

AndyA 05-30-2007 01:52 PM

Is it possible to remove the "The following user has thanked" box as shown in the image ? I'd just like to use the Thanked X in X posts.

AndyA 05-30-2007 02:46 PM

IGNORE THIS POST - FIXED

Also I have a problem, the mods and admin can see the button but 'members' cannot see it. I don't have anything in the banned fields etc..... help !
