Yes, members and admins can view multimedia, only visitors cant.. you must sign up to use our bandwidth ;)

Thanks Crist if you can give me the channels, even if in chinese they can click on them till they find the correct program... or maybe you could tell me what stations are the sports stations
Thanks again!

Thanks. I uninstalled AnyMedia and then reinstalled with overwrite allow.
I havent added any bbcode this time but im back to square one....I see the AnyMedia option in my control panel but I can NOT get it to save what file types I want it to play.

When I attempt to write a new thread in the forum and I type in:
[media]http://myserver.com/mymediafile.mpg[/media] - it still doesnt even show the player, it just shows the text I typed in ONLY. I did rebuild using bitfields and its still not working :(

Q: The supported extensions checkbox are always unchecked even if I check them all.
A: The permission cache is not updated. Overwrite the 'includes/xml/bitfield_anymedia.xml' file, and log into your admincp to visit 'admincp/index.php?do=buildbitfields' to rebuild the permission cache.

I'm having the following problem:

When I try to play website videos a white color appears in the movie space when LOGGED IN users try to play it, however for guests it's just loading fine (no error or something, everyone got permission to view).

I tried to rebuild that cache thing (also replaced the XML before doing it). I checked if I had all files uploaded of this mod (and that was the case).

I don't know what else to do. WMV and stuff plays fine. I tried YouTube and Google Videos, they only play 5% of the time for logged in users, 95% of the times loading the page, that white space appears.

Yes, I also tried disabling anyMedia for YouTube and Google Videos so it would use the default player, but this wouldn't change anything (white space still appeared).

EDIT
-----

I included some screenshots. The first it was working, then I refreshed the page and you could see the white space appearing which it does most of the time.

Working fine ->

Hi Crist,

I have no problems using your mod at all, excellent work!:classic:

I was wondering will you ever be releasing the player uncompiled, as in the the .fla file. I wanted to actually skin the player to my sites theme.

Just a thought, great mod can't wait for the 3.6 version.:D

make sure you've uploaded all AnyMedia files to the correct location.

the class_anymedia.php should be in the includes dir.

It's a known issue with the defualt AnyMedia flvplayer in IE.
I guess that the player's not working fine with IE's cache function (not sure).

I may change it to a stable one in 4.0

and you could use youtube's official player instead of it.

yes, I'm trying to make a new&stable one,
but I'm not very good at it,
I'll release the fla file if I finish it.

That location you have referenced between the media tags is incorrect. It's showing a 404 error.

Now it's working, but there's one problem the reference mp3 file is showing an error on page 'Access is Denied'. Obviously, you need access to the mp3 for the flash player to call it in to play. Check the CHMOD settings on the mp3 file.

Okay I'll explain one more time.

In IE (don't know in other browsers) logged-in users can only view YouTube and Google Videos (don't know about other video sites) 5% of the time. A white space loads with nothing showing 95% of the time (even if you refresh 20 times, it stays).

In IE users that are not logged-in can view the videos 100% always! =/ You expect me to believe it's an browser issue :(? logged in -> not working (white space loads) -> not logged in users -> works always...

And there isn't a restricted error or anything. All it does, is display a white space. Like on the screenshots.

I reinstalled the mod today, made no change.

naeemakhtar 06-22-2006 08:12 PM

Guys a big thank you to all those who helped me along the way. Especially to Syrus and Crist....thanks a lot and without your help I would never have got it working! Some people do not know that there are 2 versions of refreshing in Internet Explorer, you could possibly try these:

1. Soft Refresh - By pressing F5 or Refresh on the browser window.
2. Hard Refresh - Hold CTRL + F5

If it is a browser cache issue, then a hard refresh should fix the problem.

Did you ever set an option to limit the usage of the media tags to the first post of a thread, and/or one instance per thread?

As fantastic as this mod is, as Nitro pointed out there is a serious potential for thread denial-of-service attacks with it unless you limit it.

tuanluu 06-23-2006 03:20 AM

Did anyone try this mod on different style yet? I try it.. on some It only play the background music with a little black on the left hand corner. Even thruogh this is a great I like it :)

sutego 06-23-2006 03:37 AM

Just curious if you still plan on supporting vbadvanced?

naeemakhtar 06-23-2006 06:33 AM

Is there any way to STOP the video from playing and only play it if the user clicks the option to play?

So far the video's play immediately even though I have set in the control panel for it not to play on startup.

thanks for reporting the issue.
this must be caused by the cache system of IE i think.

The true offender of this issue is the AnyMedia flvplayer,
and i'm trying to code a brand new one.

Emmmmmmmmm.....
Seems serious enough,
thinking how to solve it now.

and I think I have to delay to Playlist function,
because of this.
