Hey there, first of all thaks for this great hack..
I am facing with "ERROR: File not found." problem..Since I moved my server to somewhere else,I get this problem when I try to download file..In addition, there is no problem with uploading the file and showing the file but dowloading..Because, I see the file in ftp..

For example,
http://www.mydomain.com/forum/downlo...d=444&act=down
This doesnt work but direct link to that file works..
http://www.mydomain.com/forum/downlo...507-Belge2.rar

Please help me out on this..
regards..

Check the chmod of the ec_tmp folder inside the downloads folder. It should have 777 permissions (just as the downloads folder itself).

With the new version coming soon, I'm opening beta testing. If you want to test the new version, please send me a pm :)

You need a test forum (vB 3.7) for it as it's not meant for live sites yet (although it should be pretty stable). I'm mostly interested in how the upgrade from v5 to v6 goes. Running a copy of your normal downloads section on your test site would be great, so you can test with lots of files.

I'm a tad bit confused ... this works for v3.7? So the beta-testing you mention above is for the new version of this hack, not for the new vb version?

The beta version works for 3.7 including the profile download tab

Hey guys,

I've recently upgraded my forum to 3.7 but since then, the smilies-box is really making the downloads page look awful. This is because the box is next to the box for quick reply instead of below it. I know I've had it below the quick reply box before the upgrade but I have no idea how I did that (if I even did it lol).

Can anyone help me with moving the smiliesbox below the quick reply box?

Thanks in advance.

Take care,

Bozza

First I'd like to thank lane for helping out earlier. And now for something completely different:

I've been uploading larger files to the 'downloads' folder via ftp and importing them, but this seems to create a duplicate of the file. After searching this thread and reading around a little it seems that I should have created an 'import' folder, then upload to - and import from - that, and finally delete the file from 'import'. I now have the original file (filename.rar) and the duplicate (2215-filename.rar) in 'downloads', and my question now is this: can I just delete the original?

My thanks for any help.

Yes, you've to delete the original files which you were used to importthe files. I have done this 5000 times already and no files missing from the download page

if the original files and the renamed files is in the same directory be cautious when you delete. like you mention 2215-filename.rar is the file from downloads page which you are not suppose to delete and if you do delete those renamed file with numbers the link from download page wont work
