1. As said a user needs to set his location for privacy reasons and the fact that there is no free geocoding global service based on addresses

2. your server is really slow

4. if you have a different style/template you need to upload the button images to the correct directory and not to the main style. You can use parent styles to avoid that in the future.

5. don't forget to click install if you are running the product.

That should fix all your issues. There are no functional problems that I can see.

You might want to uninstall the mod and reinstall.

You can take a backup of the data but it's not really needed as the uninstall doesn't remove the table from the database.

That might fix it

I'm not able to simulate that.

The script itself for positioning the markers is executed client side and not server side.

It might be an issue limited to your setup/version/internet speed.

Feature Request: Really small, but can the pixel width of the map be a variable in the options. The current width is too big for my forums (I'm within a fixed table) - so have to keep editing the templates again on each new release :)

Would be so handy to not have to do that ;)

The display script doesn't do 180 queries it reads an xml file.

2.5.0 is just around the corner maybe that will fix it for you.

The script should have renamed any old table googlemap to googlemapme

That should fix all the errors.

You can check in the product xml what queries need to be executed.

On a clean install it created 2 tables vb_googlemap and vb_googlemapme_settings

That was all, no other tables got made.

Mine is showing my "miserable users" group and all sorts of classified stuff.

As for the query count. It seems that it counts the xml parsings too.

The execution time is roughly the same as any other page. I'll dig some more if I can find something.

What would be fantastic would be to sort markers by custom profile fields. Blue for male, red for female, that sort of thing ... The usergroup thing is pretty irrelevant on my forum.

If a user adds an apostrophe to his marker text it gets slashed

EG "I\'m right here"

There seems to be a problem because whenever I try to change the zoom, my location keeps moving away. Like when I zoom it out, the marker moves a little south-west.

Love the additions so far, but hiding some of the usergroups would be appreciated as well like moonclamp said.

However, I'm getting this message:
I enabled all the options for my main usergroup as well as my two member groups and I still get this message. So the map is not visible for anyone so far.

Make sure you upload all files and do a full refresh of the page.

Make sure you do a rebuild of the bitfields.

That should fix that issue normally

to force a rebuild use /admincp/index.php?do=buildbitfields

I just uploaded a new version this version includes a "show on legend" function for the usergroups in the usergroup function where you set the marker colour.

That should allow you to hide special usergroups.

To install just download the files again. Upload everything and reinstall the product with overwrite to yes.

In the legend at the bottom of the map, I am not getting the colored pegs, which makes the legend useless.

As indicated in the pdf file if you are running a custom style you need to upload the googlemapme images subdir to that specific style too.

That should fix the issue

It did rebuild them the first time I went to the usergroup permissions. However I tried again and its still not letting me.
