What is happening? I have been running this successfully for quite some time and have never had an issue with any of my other hacks. And I have a ton installed.

Geartripper.... nothing personal here.. but I don't feel comfortable giving some one I don't know access to my admin panel....

No, I installed the version from this thread here version 2.02. And as mentioned before followed the installation instructions to a tee.

there's several better versions in this thread, but i assume you mean the default one provided by the OP. what i would do then is uninstall that one completely and use the product i listed previously.

OK.... I downloaded that version you linked to.... but now I'm having a problem uninstalling the old one.... I couldn't find anything in my admin panel to uninstall it and it doesn't show up in the Products list... I tried going to the donation_uninstall.php page but I keep getting errors like call to undefined function.......
Ummm... any help? I don't suppose I can just install this one over top of the other....????

no, that's just the error linking to what user account on your forums triggered the error. sounds like something either might not have installed correctly with donation_phrases.php, maybe from the previous removal. i'm really not sure as i've never had any errors other the the ppverify one i first had the first time i installed this. not sure why phrases would be giving you an error unless something wasn't written correctly during installation.

Well..... I did a full uninstall, made sure everything related to Paypal Donations was gone and got rid of that database error... Did a reinstall and still having the same problem... I have had three people donate so far but their donations don't show up in the top donors list nor do they show up on the goals... I can add donors no problem and they go onto the top donors list but the dontation doesn't show up on the goals. .... This is really starting to peeve me off.....

i'm not sure what else to suggest. have you verified that your host meets ALL of the minimum requirements for this hack? verify the CURL support is available... that's the most common requirement that host might not provide that would disable this hack... and just to be on the safe side, can you post your CURL information here. would you also post a screenshot of your Paypal's IPN screen.

also, for anyone else wondering... this hack DOES work for 3.6.x versions of vB.

Am I the only one having a problem with this??
If all this thing can do is accept donations and not actuallu give th einfo it's supposed to I might as well unload all the bulky crap that's supposed to work but doesn't and just add my own link to a custom donation page with a simply PayPal Donations button on it.....

EDIT: OK... I just took a look at my MyPHPAdmin and the tables for the donation thing don't look right to me....
On normal tables, say like my forum User table.. across the top it has the field names and such then under the field names it has the corresponding information such as username, userID, user e-mail, etc....
But in the donor tables the field names are down the left side with no info in them..... Could this be the problem? I might ust be grasping at straws but this thing is just frustrating the heck out of me....

Oh and Gear.... thatnk you very much for sticking with me on this problem. You've gone totally above and beyond on this. I'm wondering if you might be able to fix this if you had certain access to anything that might be able to help you.. if so please let me know...

Skelp- have you tried installing this on a barebones test board installation? i noticed you have an Arcade hack installed that might be interfering with this hack. other then that, everything that i'm able to access looks spot-on. there's nothing else i would be able to look at outside of the AdminCP and/or your FTP directories. if you want to post some screenshots of your PayPal Donations settings, i'll take a look.

i didn't get this until just now. i took a quick peak and noticed that your options are listed differently then i've seen with my installs. i have no idea how that would happen. was this installed with the product? other then that, your settings are fine from what i can see. i'll take another look in the morning when i'm not soo tired. also, PM me your username on that forum so i know who to contact when i'm there.

Options are different? Hmm strange.. umm... I installed the version that cloudrunner has in the main post in this thread.... I'm gonna try to uninstall it though and reinstall using that version you linked me to earlier and see if that changes anything..... If i CAN install it that is ehehe... without getting those errors... I'll do that now...

cloudrunner versions is flawed... definately use the product that i linked to above. don't forget to make the necessary template modifications. i'm logged into your site now, so just PM me over there when you're finished.

I have installed this hack on 4 different boards with no problem in function at all, the thing I notice is that it has to be installed then reinstalled right over itself without deleting anything.

only my two cents which isn't worth a heck of a lot.....i had a lot of problems getting this to work on my site in the begining....but i really wanted it.

i went down to barebones vbulletin....uninstalled every mod/hack/ext everything....installed my vba and then my first mod or whatever you want to call it was this one...i installed it flawlessly...made the template changes and everything that has been stated in the posts about the v and V and made sure it was fine. I have not had a problem at all with it. I am very heavily modded...60-70 mods and i have ibpro and vbplaza and inferno rpg and and and.....just a thought you might want to spend the time and go down to barebones vb and then reinstall this first followed by your other mods

It worked for me on two different sites. You have to change that capital letter in the xml file and then it works fine.

Pardon me not hammering the search button but I'm at work at the moment and trying to get this to work so if you don't mind me asking... which capital letter?

Nevermind... had some time to play with it. For anyone that gets it installed and working but can't find the admin panel it's because of the following bad code in the cpnav_paypal_donations.xml file.

Make it read:

Notice the lower case "b" ;)

1 - Which version did you use? The one on the first page or the edited one Geartripper linked to.

and

2 - Did you install any styles at all before installing this or was it a strict barebones with absolutly nothing?

OK... I give up..... I tore down my site and reinstalled it bare bones and added the PayPal thing before anything else, tested it and it STILL won't add the donations to the goal or show the donors...... I am totally disappointed with this thing.
I used the edited one you linked me to Geartripper and it's the same as the other one..... I have no frikin clue why this thing won't work properly.....

again doing the edit above and using my suggestion, I have gotten it to work flawlessly on 4 different sites. if you need help let me know

sorry for your troubles.. but please note that the one i previously linked to contains all corrected files and is not the same as the OP's. i'm really not sure where your problems are, but it might have something to do with how you lay out your directory tree as it's not in standard vB configuration. or not, i haven't ever really needed to troubleshoot this all that much as it installs flawlessley each time i try. i have it running on 5 forums using three different hosts and two of those are even shared (not that it would really matter).

are you using the OP's messed up version or the product (package) i linked to previously with all corrections made? i had it working on 3.6 b2, but haven't tried b3 yet.

Gear: Did you just upload that module for vba or was there more to it? thinking about putting it on my site but wasn't sure what all was involved.. I see there are some text files, etc but I haven't had time to really eyeball it yet.

Okay few issues with this hack that I am getting.

No images showing up. Like the Pay Pal Seal. It's not there just some text saying "Official Pay Pal Seal".

Also the vB Options menu is there but the menu to Add new donaters and stuff like that is not there.

It's acting quite funky between those two kknown issues on my forum.

EDIT: Had to uninstall it was messing up my User Profiles by moving the Last Activity selection to the right of the profile picture.

EDIT2: Aghh! It's still doing it!

EDIT3: I take out this code in MEMBERINFO template and it goes to normal, but it does not show the donate image. So if any one thinks they can help me get it aligned to the left of my profile pic instead of the right because it is also moving my last activity thing to the right as well.
Also the donater image in the post bit is not showing up either (along with any of the images for that matter).
