I don't know how this managed to happen, nor how to fix it.

Somehow when I installed the vBadvanced home page it pulled up the URL for my old vB2 folder for some of the blocks and not for others. To log in it's trying to go to the folder the v-2 forum was in.

The page inherits the style of the new v-3 forum as far as colors go, and it pulls up the v-3 welcome box at the top as well as the images.

I can't find the templates in my style manager for v-3. I have no idea where they were installed to? Any guesses?

unregistered users can view the topics and content in "Latest Topics" even if they dun have permissions

If it's compatible with vB3 Gold then how come it doesn't match up with the Includes/Adminfunctions_Template.php? >_> At least, my file seems to go screwy :P

I'm going to be upgrading my forum to vB 3.0.1, Will we have to do anything before we upgrade to the portal settings or will the forum not be affected at all?

Ok, alittle help here. I love this portal, but Ihave one issue I need to correct and have yet to do so. I run my board so that unregistered user can not see the forums. So when the hit the url www.mysite.com, they get the vb3 login box. But when you enter your name and password it reverts to www.mysite.com to look for login.php instead of www.mysite.com/forums/login.php. I had this problem with vb2 using tecks portal but was able to modify a template and get it pointied to the right place. I have had no luck with VB3. any help is appreciated.

you are misunderstanding the system.

in order for a site to offer vBulletin Hacks or mods in accordance with the vB terms of use, the site may only service licensed members of vBulletin. vB.org, vB.com, and vBtemplates.com are hte only 3 official sites that vBulletin recognizes, and they block out the code tags to anyone who is not registered with vBulletin.

vBAdvanced is using this blocking to ensure the only people able to download their hack from their site is by being a licensed vBulletin member.

Since you can post and see code at vB.org, the official vB hacks site, you can see the password typed in a code field in this thread. simply copy and paste this password in the link you provided above, and you can download and register the hack.

Same for me, I get the password, but when I enter it it gives me the same error as above. And I know it is not a licence issue, I have several owned licences. Also can I get some help on that standard error lite template so it will work on the vbadvanced home page.

Some or all of my template was removed; So now the system is down cause of it. I figure I could just run the install to get them back but no that did not work I get the following errors.

those errors come from the install file. How can I uninstall this system completely and reinstall it?

You need to put this file in your admincp directory, not the install folder.

I installed - it went great. One minor problem though. I am logged in on my forum index page, but when I access my home page, it shows me as not logged in. How do I fix that?

I left site feedback, but anyways for other to know, I have found a bug on the site that prevents people from downloading the software. Claiming that I am not a registered vbulletin user... lol, not true, and just wondering if anybody else ran against this.

yah, i know i can post here :) but on vbadvanced site, it refuses to allow me to download the vbadvance unless I am registered, and that site claims I am not a licensed vbulletin user. So I know this site is a-ok :) it's the vbadvanced site that is not working properly :)

After installing this hack, I seem to have a problem with when people view threads. The amount of views, even though they should be higher, will always be the number of replies+1. Is this a result of the installation of this hack, or was that just coincidental?

Having the same problem...being a licensed vBulleting user and it says i have no rights downloading...

I think maybe you misunderstood with regard to what was happening on my end. I did not know if I could post at vb.org as I had never posted before with the exception of this thread (which could have been set with looser permissions to allow users who are experiencing problems to post as is the case on several boards that I frequent) but I knew that I couldn't see code here. I could NOT see the password in the password post until I quoted it in a new post. When I looked back to read the post that I had written, there was the password for all to see (which is why I edited that post). When I looked back at the initial password post, I still could not see the password though, I had to get it from the quoted post, which was the something weird that I referred to in my next post. I didn't want to say it out loud because I didn't want to be pointing out glitches to be abused by unlicensed users and I hope that as soon as an admin sees this post they will edit this part out. I didn't want to post it, but specifically recalled reading from one of the mods, to never never message them in any way shape or form (paraphrased of course) unless they specifically requested it. I waited for one of them to reply to my message. Since they did not, I posted it here.

I still cannot see the password in this post unless I quote it in a new post, but I can view code and download.

If I try to install the hack with the advindex_install.php this message appears:

What to do?

I use vB v 3.0.1 without any mods.

I have a cookie question:

I run my "Home Page" on one domain (we will call it domain1.com) and my forum on a different domain (we will call it domain2.com). I want to know if there is a way to set the cookie for both domains when a user logs into either the VBAdvanced Site or the forum.

No, the cookie is generally set for the domain so will not be accessible from another domain.

You may be able to get around this by using a subdomain e.g. home.domain.com and then forums.domain.com and have those hosted seperately if you care to do that... this way you could just set the cookie against domain.com.

But you will not be able to have a cookie set by domain1.com available to domain2.com without some serious work (re-direct domains, cookies set against the re-direct domain).

Hmm, I've been having that problem as well. However, Boofo uses this portal and his boards don't have this problem. Neither does it happen at the author's own message board.

Is update threadviews set to instant? i think it might be a vB3.0.1 bug, and its fairly pointless IMO

I've tried enabling AND disabling that... and updating counters. It doesn't help. I've also tried reverting the relevant vB PHP files (forumdisplay, etc).
