Yea, your right im lame i got that second error worked out. But the first one, i may have done that. Hell i did some much im not sure what all i did. Thats why i finally started over and got it worked out. Now as for the mysql error im getting when i try to un-install, is there something i need to do to the database prior to my next un-install for your future realeases to prevent from getting that error. I forget what the error was but it had something to do with deleting a table that wasnt there. Just think if I keep bugging you enough I might be able to help someone else figure this out. :)

bouncer18 10-06-2002 10:01 PM

hehehe

ditto

this would be 1243 times easier for me if i had access to view my DB

:(

TECK 10-06-2002 10:10 PM

bouncer install phpmyadmin

LeeCHeSSS 10-06-2002 10:11 PM

Just me piping in:

The bbarray error is easily fixed: update your vbulletin to 2.2.8 (I got the error too when I tried to install on 2.2.4)

To access your DB use either phpmySQLadmin or mySQLFront (my preference - GREAT tool).

Removing
Code:

and $poll['pollid']
did not show up the poll, but it's rather late to fully test it. Will try again tomorrow and get back to you (need to check if I should install 3.4).

LeeCHeSSS 10-06-2002 10:14 PM

Oh btw:
Quote:

Please note that vbHome (lite) works with any stock (unhacked) vBulletin 2.2.x version.
This is not true, it will not work on 2.2.4 or earlier if the polls are active.

TECK 10-06-2002 10:18 PM

thanks, i will add it there on the first page leechesss. :)

I have it set to where none of my fourm can be seen until members log in. I would like to change that for my homepage only, but have had no success in geting the login to work. I only receive the Vbulletin login box, not the one intergrated into VBhome. I am on VB 2.2.8. Thanks in advance.

PS same thing happens if a pm pops up from the forums page while viewing the home page, weird.................

I know that this is not a problem others seem to be having, but I have done everything I know of to try and cure this. The VBhome works great, xcept I CANNOT get the login to work ont the home page. Any ideas??? Any help would be appreciated.

bouncer18 10-06-2002 10:50 PM

check the url path

make sure it points to the forum

post us the PAGE NOT FOUND url

refertech 10-06-2002 10:54 PM

I have seen the same problem when i change the password of a user and try to log back into the board. When i type in my site url. I'm prompted with user login screen. After entering the user and new password i get a page not found. For some reason it tries to open the
www.mysite.com/member.php

Now im not sure if it is supposed to look at this file prior to enter the board, but my member.php file isnt there. Its in the

www.mysite.com/directory/member.php

But shouldnt it try to log into the vb lite home page instead of the board anyway? Sorry Teck, I cant seem to shut up.

Teck can i have the password ( testing on www.lenzmultimedia.net ) ?
also please check my post on virtuanews forum :)
thank you

Mone'

TECK 10-06-2002 11:30 PM

guys, if my demo it's working perfectly, i sont see why it shouldnt work also in your site. i didnt add any extra code or change anything.
also, it's working perfectly on my localhost also, so is tested on windows and linux env.
take the time and check the code. take an hour if needed, no rush. in this way it's all ok.

This is exactly the error I get. I have tried pretty much everything I know. I can not login to the home page. Does the fact that my forum can not be viewed without registering have something to do with it, and if it does what is the fix. Errrrrrrrr I love the hack tho, just need for my people to be able to login without having to go around the url. You can login in by going to (in my case) www.gearfreakz.org/memberarea

Smoothie 10-07-2002 12:15 AM

Teck, are you still gonna do the upgrade script? If not, as far as upgrading from 3.3 to 3.4, what needs to be done? Run the installer to add the extra templates, add the code to the .php/template files, and thats it?

TECK 10-07-2002 12:21 AM

ya, i'm gonna write the upgrade tonite.. and ad it to the package. :)
it should be done in about on hour. i'm still busy with some code i mod onto vBulletin.

pitt2424 10-07-2002 01:46 AM

TECK 10-07-2002 01:51 AM

unfortunatelly, no. look at your url for the first image:
Code:

http://www.massmonsterz.com/forums/images[high]//[/high]top_profile.gif
notice the extra / ??

pitt2424 10-07-2002 01:54 AM

Edit replacement variable
Replacement set
Default

Code to find
{imagesfolder}

Code to insert
http://www.massmonsterz.com/forums/images/

this is what it looks like where i put it in. i dont know how i got the extra /

Your site is working just like I would like mine too. I did notice that you changed the name of your root index file to home, altho I don't see where that would make any difference. I s it possible I have permissions set that are causing the problem??? The home page at my site works fine, it is the login that is not right, I also get a could not find if a pm box pops up while you are on the home page. I am not bashing your hack at all, I love it, just need some help fixing the login problem. Come to my board http://www.gearfreakz.org/index.php and use dummy/dummy for the password/user name and see if you can see what I have done.

pitt2424 10-07-2002 01:56 AM

ok fixed it but still no good

TECK 10-07-2002 01:57 AM

STEP 6
Open vBulletin Admin Control Panel and set your {imagesfolder} replacement variable to your full website URL, like that:
Replacements > Modify > [expand list] > {imagesfolder} > [change original]

and change the Code to insert to the full URL, instead of your current value, images.
Example: http://www.yoursite.com/forum/images
you didnt read careflully the readmefirst file:
Code:

http://www.massmonsterz.com/forums/images

pitt2424 10-07-2002 02:00 AM

that's it but it still doesnt work. all i did was get rid of the other /

TECK 10-07-2002 02:03 AM

is because you dont have the images uploaded. i get a "image not found" error.
make sure all images are uploaded to your forum "/images" folder

edit: i just tried to go to your /forums location. it comes with a 404. i'm checking right now your url you gave me as default. brb...

buddy, your url is /forum , not /forums
pay attention to those details.

pitt2424 10-07-2002 02:10 AM

yeah i just saw that. thanks. what can i say foken newbies :p
