Check to see if any plugins remain from the uninstall, or any file edits you made needs to be reverted.

If neither of those help, then reinstall the mod and simply leave it deactivated :)

Fillip

Thanks! I stupidly hadn't removed all the files I uploaded when installing it, duh. :)

Hi,

I have installed this mod on my new vB site 4.1.8 and im having some issues...

I don't see the buttons on the forums to thank/like and in my admincp i have minimal options ?

I followed the install info to the dot ??

Please help...

DragonByte Tech 11-24-2011 08:32 PM

Please add yourself to the Super Administrators list in config.php and then customise button permissions via the Button Manager that should appear :)

Fillip

fookaa 11-24-2011 08:48 PM

Was just testing :D

Is it sorting by date? Because at the moment I see my old thanks from Abe's mod as new thanks, like they where given just day before. And old APTL thanks are way down on list, after Abe's thanks are over.

And one question, does importer should run in endless loop? :(

It works for about two hours now. I have this:

thanksimport.php?do=doimport&startat=1841&pp=15000 0

It made 1841 iterations with 150 000 thanks and it still runs. I'm sure I don't have that many thanks, Abe's or APTL's.

Anyway, I'll leave it to run for some time more, and that just kill it.

DragonByte Tech 11-26-2011 01:07 PM

I don't believe Abe's thanks recorded date, so that would be accurate yeah.

No, it doesn't run in an endless loop :)

Fillip

Alan_SP 11-26-2011 06:51 PM

I see date when thanks was given with Abes mod.

And for me it looks like it was in endless loop. It had about 4000 iterations of 150 000 thanks when I just closed tab where it ran. Don't know why it never completed it's task.

About me, I used (thanksimport.php) to import about 52,000 thanks from Abe to this and I didn't face any problem in this step.

but I uninstalled it because of the bug (thanks received = zero)

Alan_SP 11-27-2011 05:59 AM

I don't know why, but it run for hours, and the funniest thing is, thanks are imported, but they are sorted with wrong date.

Rock Anthony 11-27-2011 06:10 AM

Whenever I click either 'Like' or 'Dislike', a dialog pops in the screen with the text "Unknown Error".

I'll click the OK button to make the dialog disappear, but only after I refresh the browser do I see that my like/dislike is recorded.

This occurs in either Internet Explorer of Firefox.

Swedie 11-27-2011 01:55 PM

Why does this mod "remove" the original header content? As soon as I enable this mod, the original header doesn't accept any changes. I can completely remove its content and it will still show everything.

Is this due to some sort of caching or hook that overrun the header?

Using vb 4.1.8, publishing suite.

This mostly concerns the Notifications functionality in the header. I want it back please!

Until then, this mod sadly must be disabled.

That usually means that files aren't uploaded correctly. Please check that you have uploaded all the files from the upload folder into your forum folder exactly as they are presented :)

How can I fix where it pushes the join date outta wak?

That's not an issue with this mod, it's an issue with whatever is inserting that blank : (which is a problem that Abe's thanks mod had) :)

There's something I noticed, but didn't related to this mod. Still I'm not sure if it is related with this mod, or importer, but...

I couldn't search for users' posts. I saw that after I tried to run importer. I'm not saying that importer caused this, just that I'm sure it was working before and that after I tried to run importer it doesn't work anymore.

I opened thread on vb.com: https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...be-found-error

Now I'm starting to think that this could be related with importer. Please, read that thread and what I found out, could this be related with importer?

Also, just to note another problem, I see thanks for imported posts in profile (wrongly sorted as I reported before), but not when I look at the posts. For some reason, posts aren't imported right.

Is there an easy way to loose changes made by importer? Some mysql querry that I could ran to revert what importer has done?

DragonByte Tech 11-28-2011 10:40 AM

You could prune the dbtech_thanks_entry table but that will get rid of ALL entries, not just the imported ones. I don't know of a way to filter out just imported ones :(

Fillip

qpurser 11-28-2011 11:51 AM

Installed your MOD and like it a lot.

I would like to change the Title text "Post Thanks / Like" (the text above the buttons in the post) to something else?
Do I have to modify a template or phrase? If so which one?

Thanks for any help
Michael

DragonByte Tech 11-28-2011 12:07 PM

Try to search in the Phrase Manager for that text :)

Fillip

Thanks. Found it.
If somebody else wants to change this text you need to do the search as mentioned and replace the "$vbphrase[dbtech_thanks_post_thanks_like]" with the text you want

Well, this is PHP error I get when I try to search for posts:

Code:

[Mon Nov 28 18:12:50 2011] [error] [client 95.178.184.141] PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined method THANKS::parse_bbcode() in /var/www/vhosts/
slobodni.net/httpdocs/vb/legacy/post.php on line 237, referer: http://slobodni.net/

It appears in error log after I installed new version (that's confirmed). Not really sure if it's connected with importer, or mod in general.

It looks like there's some thanks BBcode or something similar.

EDIT: Excellent news for me. I just installed old version (1.1.9) and everything works for me. Now I again could search posts and show them as posts, not as threads.

Please, try to find what's causing this error, probably there's going to be others who will have same problem.

DragonByte Tech 11-28-2011 04:32 PM

The readme instructions changed, apologies for that. Please open that file and change THANKS::parse_bbcode() to
PHP Code:

// DBTECH THANKS - STRIP HIDE

global $vbphrase;

THANKS::doBBCode($page_text$vbphrase['dbtech_thanks_stripped_content']);

// DBTECH THANKS - STRIP HIDE

Fillip

Alan_SP 11-28-2011 06:32 PM

You solved problem so soon. :)

Ok, don't get me wrong, but at the moment I wouldn't go and update APTL to test solution, but later I will. I'm a bit exhausted with all of this... I hope that someone else would confirm that problem is solved.

I'm getting redirect error from firefox or any other browser

Code:

The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept
    cookies.

when i go to my profile then thanks tab then the second page of listed thanks.

(Thanks Received) is always zero even after rebuild statistics
When a user gave me a new "thanks" then the count started from zero (Thanks Received=1)

Also, in user profile
( 09:55 PM ) - sadiq6210 clicked Thanks for this post: (xxxxxxx) by
There is no username after (by), just space.

And I cannot move to page 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - .......... in user profile
I can see only the first page !

Thanks. I'll take your advice. If all is well, I'll be ready to pull the trigger on purchasing the pro version (I want the likes/dislikes to appear at the tops of messages).

Nice product!

I had the same issue, and indeed what you say about removing &perpage=20 from the url makes it work.

According to DBTech it's a server issue ...

Anyway, I edited the class_profileblock.php file to make it stop adding that perpage string on the url and works fine now.
(look for "&tab=$id" and remove the perpage part after it)

How can I access a variable from the postbit_legacy template that has the count of how many have clicked thanks, or like?

Nice product!

I properly uploaded all the files and the problem still existed.

However, I did resolve the problem by disabling the following hook:

Product : DragonByte Tech: vBShout (Lite)->(Pro) APTL Button Clicks->dbtech_thanks_postsave (FYI, I have vbShout Lite installed).

Once I disabled this hook, I no longer get the 'Unknown Error'.

Swedie 12-01-2011 06:22 PM

How come that DBTECH template changes aren't included when doing an export / download of the main vB style? This is really annoying. I have to manually do all the changes. Easy to miss stuff.

Because that's how vBulletin works :)
You need to choose the product in the "Product" dropdown to get custom changes to non-vBulletin templates :)

When I tried to import the xml it says this:

/home/masterp0/public_html/forum/dbtech/thanks/includes/class_install.php appears to be missing!

I checked the folder but it's there and it's saying it's not,

Anyway to tell me what to do o.O?

Please ensure you've not accidentally uploaded the "upload" folder but rather the contents of that folder :)
