Seems like it is errors with Javascript. I see errors lie this:

Error: syntax error
Source File: http://www.rc-central.com/dbtech/vbs...shout.js?v=544
Line: 2
Source Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"

Maybe re download the zip and upload the dbtech/vbshout/clientscript folder

I did and still says "loading"... I also had this problem with vsa chatbox. Is there something I have to enable somewhere in the ACP settings? I know with CB you have to add something:

To add to desired template (example FORUMHOME):
1. Add 'index' to THIS_SCRIPT locations (Product options)
2. Add 'FORUMHOME' to template names (Product options)
3. Open 'FORUMHOME' template and put "{vb:raw vsachatbox}" to desired line (for example after '<!-- /main -->') -> Save

How can I fix the JS if that is the error?

ozzy47 05-30-2011 12:18 AM

I am not sure, as soon as Fillip gets a chance he should be able to answer it for you.

?? How do I fix that?? lol.. without loosing all my settings and users already implemented? I have the server in front of me. I am running win server 2003 R2 datacenter, WAMP Server (v2.1), Apache (v2.2.17), PHP (v5.3.5), and MYSQL (v5.5.8). I do win update and everything is up to date and no available installs..??..

DragonByte Tech 05-30-2011 12:41 AM

Try re-uploading all vBulletin files.

If that doesn't work, contact vBulletin support.

Will I loose all info by doing this?
:(

ozzy47 05-30-2011 12:48 AM

No you should not loose any info by re-uploading the vBulletin files

so all of the "vb4 4.1.3 upload" files to the existing forum folder? Or just certain files to the existing forum folder?

Thanks for the help guys but even after re-write of all files, still nothing.. Sorry to take up your space.. I am still going to try to get it to work as I like the option!

ozzy47 05-30-2011 01:03 AM

No problem, I would do like Fillip suggested, and contact vBulletin support, and maybe your server support to see if it is something on the server blocking it.

RC-Central 05-30-2011 01:58 AM

I figured it out myself by doing a little digging. My redirect url was wrong and causing the errors. Installed now and working GREAT!!:up::up::up::up:

ozzy47 05-30-2011 02:21 AM

Ahh ok excellent, glad it is sorted.

Is there a way like in older versions of vBShout to make each member have their own specific colour?

Currently, my vBShout only displays shouts in the colour that you select at the bottom - is there a way to change it to that it displays a different colour text depending on the user that shouted it's colour setting?

I can't find a way to simply explain it! haha

Eg. I have it set to red - i want my users to see my shout in red, instead it displays all the shouts that i am viewing red.

thx

That option is a Pro version option only!

That has never been an option in the free version :)

Actually I still use: DragonByte Tech: vBShout (Lite) 5.3.2 ( c&p from my admincp) and I have my users' shouts in different colors they choose. Didn't know this was changed to pro version only, but it certainly was free (at least only in 5.3.2). Maybe by mistake, I don't know, but it is there.

AndrewH93 06-04-2011 08:48 AM

Alan_SP, I do recall it working in previous versions (probably a couple of months ago)

Yes, but the option of overriding others' shout colour to match your own is and has always been a Pro-option, which is what you asked isn't it? :)

Fillip

Currently, the free version overrides all the others users colours to match the one you want.

I want to be able to let each user have their own colour displayed.

frbmjb 06-04-2011 11:53 AM

hi
in mod cp in shoutbox manager >> view baned user >> not work for moderator
tnx

DragonByte Tech 06-04-2011 12:03 PM

Sorry I'm not sure I understand what you mean, could you clarify please?

Go to the DBTech - vBShout drop down> instance management> edit> scroll to instance permissions.

Hope that helps ;)

jooohn1 06-04-2011 03:52 PM

Many thanks for your help. But unfortunately.....

I don't get DBTech Option anywhere :( Does it suppose to come on left hand side under Admin Control Panel ??

If yes then nothing I can see like DBTech or vBShout etc

DragonByte Tech 06-04-2011 04:12 PM

Add yourself to the Super Administrators in config.php :)

Are you sure that usergroup has the permissions set in ACP/DBTech - vBShout/Instance Management?

Fillip

It was AndrewH93's question and I didn't understand it as overriding others' colors with my settings, but that every user has it's own shouts in different color. This works in my version.

You can take a look at AndrewH93 question again:

ozzy47 06-05-2011 10:08 AM

Are you sure you loaded all the files to the correct folders?

Are you upgrading from a older version of shout?

Did you CHMOD the /dbtech/vbshout/aop folder to 0777?

jooohn1 06-05-2011 10:13 AM

Yes I did. And I have installed it first time. Will try to remove and install it again. Hope that works

Note :

It is working now. I deleted vbshout.php file and uploaded again. Now its working fine

Thank you so much for all of your support here :)

ozzy47 06-05-2011 10:16 AM

Let me know how it goes.

You are required to have the suhosin PHP module. Ask your web host to install it.
