i found some spiders use lang atrr in url twice and some of them tribble
like :
www.mysite.com/en/sk/forum/index.html

as u see this may duplicate contents is there any httaccess to redirect them to the first language to prevent duplicate contents

2.
when translated pages , the links that has nofollow it will be without this nofollow
i use vbseo to add nofollow to all php files also to external link
i see it will be lost after translated

1. This is same what you wrote in last post
2. vBET do not reduce any properties in a tag. Also vBET do not change any outside links. During translation tracking only links to forum are updated and only href param is changed. Nothing more.

i need at least any htacss to prevent double using of langiage like : en/ar/

about nofollow it works ok

also

i disable
Canonical URL's with vbseo
because when i enable it
this will make all translated pages to give :
<link rel="canonical" href=
to the origin so it will make them as double content and ask the search engine to ignore them

i hope this will be fixed and thank you for your great work

suggestion :

i use the vbseo for all of my site and subdomain
i need to make exclude for 2 of my subdomain

segwayon 12-23-2009 12:40 PM

My site seems to put out this error at the top of the page twice whenever I select a non-English flag:

"Warning: mysql_ping() expects parameter 1 to be resource, object given in [path]/includes/vbenterprisetranslator_functions.php on line 495"

Any suggestions on what is causing it would be appreciated.

Edit: Also, I noticed as a test that whenever a Spanish user selects to translate into Spanish a post written in German from a forum with an English default language, the mod translates German words which look like English into Spanish as if the source language is English, and leaves the non-English-looking German words alone. Can you alter the mod to set the "source language" to "auto" so that Google translations can auto-detect? There may be other boards which use multiple languages.

Edit2: I notice that the page "online.php" ("Currently Active Users") will translate the user names. Also, those error messages listed above don't appear on the forum homepage, but will appear within a forum or a thread.

plomaha 12-23-2009 12:43 PM

I can't register on your site because the Verification Image does not appear in any browser i try. I'm interested in purchasing the mod, and want to know if you offer installation service. Please pm me.
Thank you

My question: I use Google Webmaster tools. That shows me double content and double tags as issue.

PHP Code:

/no/showthread.php?p=428722
/showthread.php?language=no&p=428722

/tags.php?language=tr&tag=test
/tr/tags.php?tag=test

/pt/tags.php?tag=test
/tags.php?tag=test&language=pt

O, when I use your https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....67&postcount=2

PHP Code:

RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} (hl=|language=)(zh-TW|zh-CN|..)
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/%2/$1? [L,R=301]

then I get links like .../no/showthread.php or .../no/tags.php and a loop. I have no VBSEO installed, only the free vBSEO Sitemap Generator. Here my .htaccess:

PHP Code:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond
%{HTTP_HOST} ^open-speech.com$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ "http\:\/\/www\.open\-speech\.com\/$1" [R=301,L]

RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$[L]

RewriteRule ^/?(af|sq|ar|be|bg|ca|zh-CN|hr|cs|da|nl|en|et|tl|fi|fr|gl|el|iw|hi|hu|is|id|ga|it|ja|ko|lv|lt|mk|ms|mt|no|fa|pl|pt|ro|ru|sr|sk|sl|es|sw|sv|zh-TW|th|tr|uk|vi|cy|yi)/$ index.php?language=$[L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^/?(af|sq|ar|be|bg|ca|zh-CN|hr|cs|da|nl|en|et|tl|fi|fr|gl|el|iw|hi|hu|is|id|ga|it|ja|ko|lv|lt|mk|ms|mt|no|fa|pl|pt|ro|ru|sr|sk|sl|es|sw|sv|zh-TW|th|tr|uk|vi|cy|yi)/(.*)?$ $2?language=$[L,QSA]

RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} (hl=|language=)(zh-TW|zh-CN|..)
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/%2/$1? [L,R=301]

Put the rule about language= before other rules.

I'm having some issues with the jelsoft blog working with this. Let me know what you would need or if you have any suggestions.

Here is one of the many error messages I am getting. They all stem from the blog on the forums.

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.4:

Invalid SQL:

Referrer :

Username : <!--START vBET NOT TRANSLATED AREA-->Unregistered<!--END vBET NOT TRANSLATED AREA-->
Classname : vB_Database
MySQL Version :

I'm running this on a dedicated server with 8 Core/8 GIG Ram.
Obviously something is not right.

P.S. I did not realize you were selling the addon. I donated here. Would like to get it up and running first before investing further.

Looks like a great addon.

thanks,

At this moment blogs translations are not supported and never was tested, because blogs are not native vBulletin functionality and requires paid addon. I'm planning to support blogs translation. At this moment there is also lot of other work :)

The message which you get tells you that your mysql server disabled connection. This can happen if vBET is waiting too long for translation from Google. vBET has build in functionality to reconnect, but as I wrote for blogs it wasn't tested.

This was because of server moving and DNS changes. Right now vBET forum is running great on new server :)

vBET is highly configurable - you can enable as many translations as you can. Also if you want to have new traffic you have to be ready to handle it :) We have users with forums having +1 milion pages :D See here:

One day it's about entering something in the membermap, other day it's these scripts
.../newreply.php?do=postreply&t=714
.../editpost.php?do=updatepost&postid=undefined

Could it be that the addon has a massive effect on the database?
Because everytime it's another problem and always with the message ...server has gone away.

I will compare source differences in versions to see does it can be correlated or it is just coincidence. I see that connection reestablishing fails - I add this in TODO list. Thanks for notice and hope you will survive some of those mails.

I can't use the format of URL i.e. : " /forum/es" "/forum/pt"? Or only can use "language=es"?

Thanks,
sorry but i don't speak inglish very well.

You have to configure your forum directory in vBET options and set appropriate rules in .htaccess file (see first post)

1. Strange - fast fix: put return; at the beginning of this function. what version of vB are you using? Do you use mysqli?
2. vBEt 2.x supports translation from forum language to specified language. vBET 3.x supports multilingual communities also allowing to write messages in any of supported language (also with option of auto-detection)
3. Added in TODO list to not translate usernames on online.php page.

Thanks, NLP-er. Our forum is running vB 3.8.4PL2. Our MySQL version is 5.1.41, and I'm not sure where to see if we're running mysqli.

Which function needs the "Return;" word at the beginning? I can open the file up in WordPad but there's no line numbers given.

Did you upload the images correctly? Are there broken image links when viewing the forum in a browser? If so, what is the path to the images? And are the images residing in that location?

the images went up to the root of the forum, where you have to install?

Why not simply click on the broken images and look at what is the image path yourself?

Or, you can simply look at the source code of the page in your browser?

It is not necessary to ask such simple questions that you can easily find the answer yourself in about 5 seconds....

domi681 12-26-2009 12:54 PM

where not show pictures I can to click, I'm not stupid.

The problem is that images are not displayed, and no manual installation and for any mod.

Greetings.

The flag images ought to be installed in a subfolder within the main forum folder (assuming your main forum folder is named "forum"), something such as this:

Code:

www.mywebsite.com/forum/vbenterprisetranslator_flags/uk.gif
Can you confirm that the folder in red and GIF files exist on your server? (This isn't my mod, of course; I'm just trying to help!)

domi681 12-26-2009 04:21 PM

OK, if installed in the root directory: http://mysite.com/foro/vbenterprisetranslator_flags

Maybe I'll let the author of this mod get back from his vacation to answer you, as I don't want to lead you wrong. I noticed that your default forum folder is named "foro" and I am uncertain if that matters, as the mod options (in the AdminCP) allow for specifying two settings related to the forum folder. Unfortunately the instructions for this mod are too cryptic to understand, so I'll defer to the author.

function vbet_reestablishConnection - I have to change solution in next version. Few forums have this issue and it appears to not work anyway. So for quick fix just put return; at the beginning of function and in next release I will work out some other solution.
