Geek, is this something going on on AME's part or just a website quirk? For some reason this particular URL string puts this error messages as the title: http://www.cogonline.net/forums/show...945#post372945

Not with AME3 as it stands. Reason being that its actually vB that is handling the parameters now and it only allows for 1 parameter. I believe that someone mentioned that an earlier version of AME works so you can check that out. I am also looking at some 'other' applications for ame so Ill keep this in mind ;)

Also, please click install if you have installed :)

Thanks

There is only ONE parameter in the flash url for embedding I have, so....

Would the new AME 3.0 work with the current Media Definitions I have? (with customized display sizes)

Is there a way to "turn off" vB4 video feature so I can stick with AME which has been working well for me?

Thanks again....

Can you export the definition and give me an example url?

If there is only 1 parameter than AME3 should work fine but no way to know until its looked at. AFAIK you cannot turn off the video bbcode, nor would I suggest to the new vB code is somewhat limiting, but thats not really bad. Its more tightly written and has a tighter scope. It doesn't lend itself to large amounts of definitions as easily, but its also only the first iteration of the system.

Your old definitions will not work in AME3 because they won't work in vb4. The good news is that its pretty easy to convert them and you should be able to convert the ones you need in no time flat. There will be the odd ones that wont convert because they need multiple parameters, but that is the exception rather than the rule.

HTHs

You sure this isn't a site where you have to be logged in? If so, AME won't be able to extract any info from there.

Nope, I'm not logged in. I don't know why it's doing that. I'm getting the videos to embed just fine. The only odd thing is the title becomes that error message. Maybe they're related somehow. Hrm...

Stryker412 12-23-2009 04:47 PM

Those links worked for me.

BTW, DJ check your messages on COG.

Ross L 12-29-2009 12:24 AM

Is there any chance of the youtube embed code being made valid? Just checked it on w3.org and it's throwing up 122 Errors.

Cheers,

Ross

I have managed to install the addon onto my forums, but testing it out, I can only make it show video if I enclose links in [ame][/ame].

Posting a normal link will just have it enclose in automatically, and nothing will happen.

Creating a preview of a post with AME tags will properly show the video, but change the AME tags to URL tags in the text editor.

Any ideas what's going on? It seems like AME is not automatically scanning the posts? vB 3.8.4

Digital Jedi 12-30-2009 06:49 AM

Did you enable your AME cache after installation? What links are you trying to embed specifically?

qbn720 01-02-2010 04:28 AM

I installed AME and DigitalJedi's XML Definitions into my system and they work fine throughout the forum, however, I keep getting this error each time, I try to save a draft of my blog entry:
Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.4:

Invalid SQL:
UPDATE blog_text SET ame_flag=0 WHERE blogtextid = 0;

MySQL Error  : Unknown column 'ame_flag' in 'field list'

Can you guys explain to me what's going off with this? It references the "ame_flag" which is why I figured it may be related to this.

Missing column, maybe? Sounds like you added the blog after you installed AME and didn't run the Add Blog Support tool in the AME CP.

Actually, that's exactly what I did, is there a way to fix this problem, or will I have to reinstall the whole thing?

Just running the Add Blog Support tool should add it in.

I am having almost identical problems. I seemed like ame worked just fine last week butr within the last few days, this started happening. I run VB 3.8.4 PATCH2

Could patch 2 be to blame?

The Geek 01-02-2010 02:49 PM

Doubt it. Can you paste a link to a post that isn't autoconverting?

Yep, there is an issue after installing PL2 patch.

See attached.

The Geek 01-03-2010 03:54 PM

You have duplicate definitions. Remove one of your youtube ones.

Thank you.

Hiya ..

There are no UNinstall instructions in the Read-me file.

I did not just want to uninstall the product in a haphazard fashion ... any special care needed ?

Not really. There's some directions within the modification itself if you want to remove the AME tags before uninstalling, but other than that, it isn't different than any other modification.

This application doesn't seem to work unless HTML is turned on for the forum. Is there a way to get around this? If not, is this a big security concern?

RadioErewan 01-06-2010 09:04 PM

Hey, Geek, where descriptions are inserted into DB? I have ISO-8859-2 forum, and titles from YT containing characters outside of ASCII7 are destroyed (guess it is not iconved).

Wha? Where on earth did you hear that HTML needed to be on?

Er... do you mean the titles for the link? When you post a link to youtube and you have extraction on, it will go fetch the page title and lin it up as [ame="url"]title of page[/ame]

I did some encoding for multiple languages, but as I only speak English (and not very well) I am at a disadvantage.

drjdh 01-06-2010 09:29 PM

It only works if I have HTML enabled for the forum. Otherwise, I get only the link showing up instead of the video.

RadioErewan 01-06-2010 09:37 PM

See here - it is publicly available on my forum
http://forum.olympusclub.pl/showpost...postcount=1128
And second video should contain "Paweł" not "PaweĹ" on title bar as it is on original youtube page
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlFbqtNjB0A
Hope will be able to find where you are writing it, but you know your code and can hint me, where to search for it. iconv is needed.
Would love to run my forum on UTF, but you know, it is not supported ;-)

Regards

drjdh 01-06-2010 09:39 PM

This is the error message that I am getting:

The path to your file cache is set to /amecache/ which appears to be invalid and as such, the file cache is not correctly working. The suggested default value is /hermes/bosweb/web183/b1838/ipg.drjdh/amecache/.

Not sure where the encoding will need to be done. Most likely here:

in includes/ame_bbcode.php specifically function ame_fetch_www_title

PHP Code:

$title unhtmlspecialchars($title);

or possibly here (though this is at runtime):

includes/ame_bbcode.php
PHP Code:

$ameinfo['title'] = htmlspecialchars_uni($param1);

That is a warning that your path to the file cache is incorrect. It needs the full server path to the folder. Listen to AME, she is giving you the answer :)

Ok, I got it working.

Problem: Needed to install the Product-ame.xml AFTER the files are uploaded.

Silly me :o

First shot:
PHP Code:

$title unhtmlspecialchars(mb_convert_encoding ($title'ISO-8859-2''UTF-8' ));

and everything works like a charm.

Thank you master!

Musika 01-07-2010 12:58 PM

I think the definition for clipfish has changed, cause it doesn't work.

This is an example expression What is the Media Definition Code, Regular expression and Replacement so that I can fix it?
