Thanks PixelFX. It's with great hope that Darkwaltz4 focuses on some wonderful extensions and add-ons to the upcoming vBCredits rather than a replica credits solution. I think that will only cause more confusion, and divide support and integration for other developers on vb.org. We have enough of that with vb's maintenance releases! :D

Looking forward to vBCII!

^.^ Less of a danger with DBTech than other companies since DBTech is a large successful team - even if one person was to leave, there are plenty of others to carry on the work.

Can't say the same for smaller companies mind you. I'm sure Rob has no intention of ever doing so, but there's always a greater risk of very small companies with only 1 person running things going down. At DBTech the way the agreements are set up, even if one person was to leave, the rights are still transferred so the products can continue to be sold, supported and developed by the remaining team members =)

=) Thanks for bringing up the point though. It's important for people to understand the relative risks in purchasing products - thats why all of our products are available for download immediately upon payment - theres no chance of everything suddenly vanishing without getting the product you pay for.

I feel this is important, and the more open way to do business.

ArnyVee 06-19-2010 03:26 PM

SpeedJunkyz, I noticed that you are using ibProArcade. Check here: vBCredits.com Official Arcade Support Thread

Hope that helps!

Joey Link 06-19-2010 07:59 PM

How soon after a user completes an activity, such as making a post, do their credits show up?

ArnyVee 06-21-2010 12:54 AM

The credits should show up immediately after adding a post. That is, if all usergroup permissions and credits are setup correctly. Default setup should be sufficient, but just check the specific usergroup permissions if they are not showing for you. :)

bluecamosis 06-30-2010 02:46 PM

I was forced to upgrade my vbulletin. Now I can't get my site to show because of this message: "Fatal error: Call to undefined method vBulletinHook::init() in /home/greatha1/public_html/plugins/credits_plugins.php on line 16"

I have NO idea how to fix this. Can someone help me?

Darkwaltz4 06-30-2010 02:51 PM

what version did you upgrade to?
put this in your config.php:

PHP Code:

define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

then you can get into your admincp to disable vbcredits

Brandon Sheley 06-30-2010 02:56 PM

oops. posted this on the wrong point mod

Darkwaltz4 07-03-2010 04:52 AM

users who have upgraded to vB4 can now upgrade to vBCredits II Deluxe right now! https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245752
a 3.8 compatible version is right around the corner :)

Darkwaltz4 07-06-2010 12:47 AM

users who have upgraded to vB3.8 can now upgrade to vBCredits II Deluxe right now!
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245952
technically, vB3.7 users should be able to use the same one, but currently testing for sure!

LostForWords 08-15-2010 06:53 PM

Hey there! I've got this mod installed.

I was wondering if there was a way to show the total amount of credits in a usergroup?

For example if I wanted to create a competition between Usergroup A and Usergroup B to see which group could earn the most amount of credits, would I be able to do this?

JohnT 09-29-2010 03:16 PM

How can I edit how many points are given for a new post, new thread, etc?

I see no options for that.

This is not possible in this version. The pro version of vBCredits II Deluxe allows you to build bar graphs comparing the earning levels on several grouping methods including usergroup in the transaction manager.

Those are in the usergroup settings.

Somebody "hacked" my forum and was able to donate millions of credits to other users. I don't know how he did it. He just registered and sent of millions of credits to other members.

Any idea?

Also, how do I edit the # of credits a user has?

HyperActiv 10-03-2010 04:30 AM

How is the paycheck system works? how can I set paycheck to give X points to the staff within 30 days?

Did you leave the post award system enabled for regular members? Check the usergroup settings for them. There is a tool in the vbcredits menu to find and edit the amounts people have all at once.

Usergroup settings. The main settings let you choose the days, but you cant choose a reference time point though (its effectively from when you installed the addon)

What the heck is the post award system even for? And what does that have to do with somebody being able to donate millions of credits to other users when he doesn't even have that amount himself?

And I honestly can't find that "tool in the vbcredits menu to find and edit the amounts people have all at once".

No offense, but this mod really needs to be more organized, user-friendly, and easier to find options.

Darkwaltz4 10-04-2010 01:58 PM

The post award system is a way for staff groups to award credits to other users without taking the credits out of their own accounts. Some people mistake this for other things and accidentally enable this for regular members.

I invite you to upgrade to the new iteration of vbcredits - vBCredits II Deluxe (works for vB3.7/8+4): https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245952
It cleans up how everything works together with a lot more features and consistency.

What is the name of the addon and where can I get it?

P.S. How can I set X days until paycheck?

What do you mean? it comes with this. The duration should be in the global action settings.

I can't find it. I've entered to vBulletin settings > vBcredits global options and than I couldn't find the duration time. How does it named? any idea?

snowlion 10-21-2010 04:12 PM

In vBcredits Option > Check vBCredits Awards section > Interval for Activity and Paycheck Awards
In Usergroup Manager > vBCredits Awards > Paycheck Credit

So in "Interval for Activity and Paycheck Awards" field I enter 30 days, and in the "Paycheck credit" for usergroups I enter 10, It means that with every 30 days the usergroup will earn 10 credits?

Darkwaltz4 11-04-2010 06:21 PM

Yep, however the 30 day timer is in relation to the date you installed vbcredits... this is impossible to shift unless you upgrade to vBCredits II Deluxe

And how can I upgrade to vBcredits II? I have vBulletin 3.7.2.

I purchased a license and received nothing.
Contacted support, and nothing.

I mean in vBCredits 1.x the paycheck's date range starts from the time you installed the addon, you cant manually adjust it to the first of the month or something. But you can in vBCredits II which this version should work on vb3.7 https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245952

After purchase you should have been able to download it from your member area at DBTech immediately. If you are unsure of what to do, please PM decado on dbtech and he will get everything straightened out.

I succeed upgrading to deluxe, but it is too messy for me, there's a chance that you know how to upgrade the paycheck section only?

By the way thank you for your support.

Sorry, that change depended on a massive overhaul.. which is what vBCredits II deluxe is.

You would have to upgrade to this version: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245752

jayhawk785 11-09-2010 09:03 PM

Ive tried to use the new deluxe whatever for vb4, but it's overly complicated compared to this previous version, and it seems less functional overall.

What's the status of this project vbcredits (not deluxe etc)? The vbcredits.com website seems to have been taken down and shifted, and I'm having trouble understanding who owns what and who supports what.

Darkwaltz4 11-10-2010 09:16 PM

The old version is no longer maintained as it has been replaced with II deluxe. It has all of the features of this version and much much more. Here is a quick start guide on using it: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/threa...ck-Start-Guide

Of course, if you have usage questions I am happy to help guide you.

jayhawk785 11-11-2010 04:35 PM

Dark, probably not the most appropriate place for this question--perhaps I should shift to the 4.0 thread... but let me explain my basic needs, and let you know what trouble I ran into on the development site:

NEED: purchase credit integration (previous purchased vbcredit$ addon)

NEED: subscription purchase to add bonus credits when purchased (this can be accomplished by usergroup promotion in deluxe, but ill explain why this isnt working for me later)

NEED: daily paychecks per usergroup, cron'd and not based on login

---------------

What I ran into in your newer version is a problem where, the new system seems to pay out only when a user logs in, or after x minutes if you use the cron. So, when a user subscribes and they are promoted, they may not see their credits instantly which can be frustrating.

I also need a way to have users purchase credits, I split the use of two credits fields (checking and savings). Purchased credits go to savings, monthly-earned via daily paychecks/subscribed credits go to checking. Checking credits can only be used with an active subscription.

I do not allow the use of the bank, or donation systems. This is basically "real" cash conversion to credit to allow the purchase of goods on the site (separately scripted).

can you suggest a way to do this with your new products? I have been unsuccessful in getting them to work the way I need them to (as described) and the inability to allow processed paypal/google co/payments is a really preventing me from using this.

Appreciate the help.

Darkwaltz4 11-14-2010 08:46 PM

The paypal integration is part of an in-testing pro version.

You can turn on immediate transactions in the global config (by default its disabled for deferred processing as the calculations required can be overwhelming to busy servers). At any rate why is it important that users get credits when they are not logged in? It wont matter to them unless they are present, at which point they would have their credits. There are many changes made which include that philosophy in an effort to reduce server stress.

jayhawk785 11-14-2010 08:52 PM

what if they have a subscription, and they are moved to a usergroup where they receive 2 credits per day for 6 months. Lets say they don't login for the last 3 months of their subscription. The subscription is expired at that point--do they still receive the paycheck for the last 3 months (up to the point the subscription expired)?

also, for me to report off usage etc, it's ideal that its more 'real' time.

Are all of those calculations suspended when the product is turned off ? I am trying to diagnose excess database hits and slow load times, I think it is mostly vb but I just want to be sure Every other process is turned off.

Hm, well for the short term, I am not changing it as you are the only person to have raised an issue with it. The previous vbcredits did those via midnight cron, but performance issues with large forums was a frequent complaint - it would be that much worse with the new one. I'll hang onto your suggestion though.

Also, paypal integration is now available in the new pro version at dbtech :) (link in sig)

When the product is turned off everything should be suspended.
