Hope future version will include:

A vbulletin like posting, and picture uploading, not the 3 steps thats uses right now, it confuses users and making it just that bridge they dont cross.

Blaine - you have done a fantastic job with this product and should be commended.

Unfortunately though I can't really install this mod on my live forum for some very simple reasons - please don't consider my comments as negative. Forum members would use the mod so much more if they got exposure to what they are selling/auctioning and when you mix this with the fact that people come to a forum to read the posts then the answer is that the two need to be combined.

Many mods are add-on pages and I personally have found that they don't get used much for the reason I said above - people come to the forums to read posts. So, for this reason many forum owners usually have one of their forums being "anything for sale" which contains separate threads that users have created to sell an item - a separate page is out of sight out of mind whereas a for sale forum in all the other forums gets noticed by the forum users resulting in things being sold - better success then a separate page.

I would so much like to have your auction system where the items are listed as threads within the forum structure. The only other thing that I would very much want is to be able to define a standard format display such as:
Item: The Big Item
Price: $100
Description: yada yada yada
Location: My Place
Colour: Green
etc

- if vBay was integrated with the forums more as in the above then I truly believe that vBay is a real winner. When a person clicks on the thread your page opens up instead of the normal posts. Perhaps the threads could even be sorted with Auctions first then standard "For Sale" items and then all the closed auctions/sold items.

I have a question Blaine lol. How come the winner of the auction gets the sellers address? I post an auction to sell my Wii, I actually get a bidder. Ten minutes later he PM's me back quoting my PM that told him he won the auction and told him my address. He replied "Why do I need to know your address?".

I think you should make it so that the auction winner PMs the seller their address.

When i enter a minimum bid and a buy now price and someone buys an item with buy now, he gets the message that he has not met the minimum bid.

Is this a bug?

1) Upload files via ftp to where? which folder?
2) There is one 'upload' folder and a'.xml' file, where should I place it.

Ok i uploaded it. Do we have to re name the upload file? Also i just get the upload file main directory but no actual site. Then when i try to open it, it says something like this:

You upload the content of the "Upload" folder to your forum root (NOTE: Not the "Upload" folder itself, just the content). That means you upload it to wherever your keep your forums. For a lot of us, that's just the main directory. For others, they keep their forums in a folder called "forum".

XML files are imported via your Product Manager. Go to your Admin CP >>> Plugins & Products >>> Manage Products >>> Add/Import Product. Then refresh your Admin CP to see if you have a new menu option.

Yes i uploaded it. I read what you said for the other guy and you said that you do not upload the folder upload? So where do i put everything else?

You upload the contents of the "Upload" folder, but not the folder itself. You just upload the contents to your forum root, that is wherever you keep your forum. Look inside the "Upload" folder and you'll notice that its contents are structured just like your forum's contents, with an admincp, images and includes folder. Uploading all that just the way it is, will add the contents of those folders to the contents of the corresponding folders on your website (in addition to the main vbay, vbayimg and vbaytn files), which is where they need to be in order for the product to work.

Also, you don't upload the XML file, you import it via the Product Manager as I showed above.

Ok yes i got it going but for some reason now I can't make categories etc. in the admin panel. Anyone help?

I am suspecting it is the latest version of vbulletin which is not allowing categories. The thing is that once you enter details without categories it stalls and goes back

Ok everyone i figured out how to have the add catagories in the control panel. What you need to do is download version 9. That is the version that does not have flaws. I hope that helped.

The mod works great with one little hitch that I am hoping is easily fixed:
When the auction ends, it is not notifying the seller or the bidder that the auction has ended and whos the lucky bidder. Is this just a bug on my end?

I am running vbulletin 3.6.8 PL2 on PHP 5.x and MySQL 5.x Windows Server 2003

It shows up via Private message. It not publicaly viewable. The bug I'm seeing is when someone click's "buy now", it only shows the highest bid. So if you're selling something for $300, someone else bids $450, but the "buy it now" is $800; if "buy it now" is clicked, $450 will show instead of the $800 "buy it now".
Not a good thing :(

2. the private message shouldnt give our addresses unless specified. :D

as I said before, it might be an issue just related to my system, but wanted developer input or input from someone else that has had the same issue or had the issue and resolved it. It is NOT pming anyone seller or buyer of a completed auction, or of winning bid.

Installed, i'll let you know my feedbacks.

I had problems with auctions where there were bids and "but it now" such as:
1. User can give minimal price higher than "buy it now".
2. When you place a bid higher than "buy it now" it still can be used (maybe "buy it now" should be hidden when the first bid is placed which is higher than minimal price?).
3. When there is minimal price it is not possible to buy through "buy it now".

In my forum I only left "buy it now" as possible option (modified template to hide auction type radio buttons, and modified vbay.php to override type to be always 'buyitnow').

PM is sent to both parties by scheduled task every 10 minutes.
