TY for the response.

1 other thing, is there anyway to completely remove all instances of the

"Deferred payment types such as bank transfers and eChecks are only supported after registration; attempts to use them now will fail without further notice."

I am using this with another mod and any guest message causes a conflict, i have tried to edit the xml and remove a few instances of it. Maybe I am missing something? Possibly in an update a way to remove or be able to edit this?, even tho I know how to edit it, maybe others users do not and would like to say..make it a disclaimer message if they never plan on accepting echecks..

This mod was coded to be very non-intrusive. The problem is with the other mod, and the author (or you) will have to fix that.

Works Great with 4.1.5!

Thank you for all your guys hard efforts.

One question though, and it might have been asked but I did not see it.
Can we change the order of the subscriptions on the register page?

What I mean is I want the Free to be at the top of the list.

I also noticed that if I selected Free and closed my browser (IE) and went back to the site the list does not show up again unless I delete my cookies. I don't know if you can do anything about that or not or if that is a vBulletin issue but I thought I would let you know.

You're welcome!

Yes, you can move the free option to the top; check the options.

Regarding the cookie thing, this is not a bug. You are taken there on your next visit to the registration page in case you want to continue your free registration. If you want to see the list again, there is a link at the top of the form for you to go back.

Don't use PayPal. I believe Merchant Bancard uses the Authorize.net gateway which is supported by vBulletin. This way, Paypal is not the judge, jury, and executioner.

This is outside the scope of this thread though; open a thread in the relevant section.

On another note, the problem tweeker has encountered is rooted deep in vBulletin and is triggered by setting the global "Can View Forum" permission for guests to "No". A patch will be released tomorrow afternoon.

Just wonder if you had any updates on this patch, a new time frame possibly?
Thanks!

2.2 has been released!

BadgerDog 08-01-2011 07:28 PM

Thanks .. updated, allthough the version number in my AdminCP products listing shows as 2.3?

Also, have re-enabled this excellent product and started using it again, after almost a month hiatus while trying to discover why my PayPal automated subscriptions no longer worked. The vBulletin PayPal gateway handshaking was completely broken and I had to revert to manually handling Contributing Member subscriptions. Really frustrating ..

With the kind help of vBulletin staff, we traced it down to a PAID mod developed by DragonBytes called vbMail, which completely broke the exising PayPal vBulletin gateway and subscription process we'd been using for almost 5 years successfully.

Disabling DragonBytes vbMail mod fixed the problem, then they provided a temporary patch which fixes it permanently, I hope. I understand their next production release will have that fix in it, but until it's released, I'd recommend anyone using their vbMail product and also vBulletin's PayPal gateway, disable the product immediately and contact DragonBytes.

Now a question ... :)

Using this mod on the front end during registration, is there any way to add an additional subscription amount to a pre-existing list of choices, that could be called an "early bird" discount?

In other words, for anyone who subscribes during the registration process (and not later), they would get a discount off the regular subscription price, in our case, to be upgraded to Contributing Member Status. In essence, it's an amount that ONLY shows in the drop down list if the subscription is being done during registration.

It might help motivate people to contribute during that process, if they see some text explaining how much the save by doing it now.. etc ...

Thoughts?

Regards,
Doug

ps: More of you guys should be sending Lancerforhire a donation. I know that not everyone can afford it, but even some token small amounts add up, which helps motivate him to continue further enhancements and development. ;)

The 2.3 version number was a pre-assembly mistake; it should be fixed now.

Adding an additional subscription amount is an interesting concept. Maybe we can get something like this implemented in the coming weeks; no promises though!

Though not in the form of currency, I have gotten more out of this project than I could have ever hoped for, especially for my first public mod release. Watch out for my next major project; it's going to be intense. ;)

Thanks ...

An early bird special pricing on registration only, might help us stimulate more folks to become Contributing Members overall.

Looking forward to your next project as well.... ;)

Hi .. :)

Ok, I think I had my first attempt by someone to subscribe as part of their registration process, but I'm not sure ....

I've got a user called Pending Subscription 1 who registered this morning and are currently sitting in Awaiting Email Confirmation status .... (see pic)

Is this user related to this mod and am I supposed to do anything with it? There was no corresponding subscription taken out by anyone that's showed up on PayPal.

Thanks for any feedback ...

Regards,
Doug

why does this plugin, when activated, reset my header template to default?

Hi. Great mod. :)

Perhaps HouseAddict was/is experiencing a similar problem to me - CSS rules applied via stylevars are correctly implemented on the new registration page, but those in my additional css template are not. FireBug reveals that these rules are not present on the registration page.

Any ideas why this might be?

Thanks, Mike

Lancerforhire, you can at least tell me where I can include the option to add this mod in your product registration?
