I upgraded vB 3.6.7 -> 3.6.8 and this mod still work OK.

is it possible that if a banned user triggers this, this new user gets banned also?

Yes, I've already built this feature (configurable as an option) into the next generation of this product (currently in beta, no release date set yet). It works like this: when a banned user is found on an existing cookie then if a new user signs up from the same machine they get instantly banned or suspended.
