I am using vbgooglemap ME on my board for about 4 month now. Everything worked fine, my useres love this mod. But now the map stopped displaying new entries. I have 317 entries in the admin cp (all approved) but the map only loads 273 markers.

I don't now where to look, any ideas ?

Thanks

Whats the deal with duplicates?
I'm going through my ME Full view list in the admin cp and I see some members have multiple entries.
My mapID's 69-72 all belong to the same username.
80 and 81 are the same guy
114 and 115 are the same guy
141 and 142 are the same guy - when this guy was doing his entry, he reported to me in an IM that he was getting an error message "missing text" - and I quote:
"( MARKER TEXT)(<URL INFO)??????I tried it but this info was needed." because he did not fill out the text and the image url information (although text is the only required of the two, I realize that), so I sent him back to the page to try again and I explained what that meant, what the text is for, etc.. - He went back and added the entry just fine the second attempt.

SO, I think this little bug might have something to do with people submitting their entry only to get an error message - the entry was recorded even though they are asked to try again and correct the errors. Although I am not 100% sure of this, it is only a hunch...

Only 1 marker shows for each person on the map, though. But I dont think there's a need for duplicates in the db! I think some code fix is in order...

Anyone care to take a stab at this?

ps I use V2.5.1 - if this was corrected in the latest version, I apologize, but I searched this thread and nobody has reported duplicates yet, so my guess is that it still persists regardless of version...

and by the way, my Me Full view report shows 143 entries under mapID, however my publicly viewable map shows Loaded: 137 of 137
So, the viewable map does not mind the duplicate entries, they only seem to clutter the db...
Just an fyi if this was not clear in my last post.
This bug may pose a data hygiene issue if these users go to edit their location and the script grabs one random entry for them if they have duplicates, it might cause some hair pulling if the map then goes and loads the wrong entry! I didnt pressure test that far into it nor look at the code, but hey who knows... it should be fixed.
cheers

Check out my posts above, look carefully at your list of entries in the admin cp - there may be duplicates. Count them and see if that makes up the difference in numbers.

I'll check this immediately

You are absolutly right, there are several double entries in "ME full view" !
I am using Version 2.5.2

Yep, its really not a big issue (yet). Let's see if we can get a fixed version whipped up though...
I think this mod is still being supported, right?

Ahh..OK thanks. I didn't realize that this wasn't done by default. :p

Good hack, thanks! :D

Have any of you noticed any sort of query problem on your showthread/postbit pages?

Especially when viewing pages with a significant amount of posts..

For example, go to a page that has like 15+ posts on it. Then, take note of how many queries you have on that page (you'll need microstats or something similar to view this). Then, go into your AdminCP and temporarily disable this hack. Then, go back and view the query count for the exact same thread you viewed earlier. Do you see a significant difference?

I tried this on several boards (one that had absolutely ZERO additional hacks on the entire site) and the queries were almost double. I can create this issue on any site, has this been brought up before?

All sites are running Googlemaps 2.5.2, and vBulletin 3.6.4.

Ah, I see I'm not the only one.. It runs a query on every post.. Since this was mentioned several months ago to be something fixed in an upcoming version, are we close to the release of this? Otherwise I guess I'll use that temporarily workaround that was posted..

I love this hack!
