So just making sure.... I can delete all my current ones and then import this new list?

As long as you take into account what I said in my last post, then yes.

And does it need more ressources if I have installed a lot of definitions? Or doesn?t it matter?

As The Geek puts it, he designed AME to have a "minimal footprint". The more definitions, yes, the more time it may take, but not, as I understand it, more resources. It's certainly lighter than BBCode.

Is it possible that Amazon (Links).xml doesn?t include the reflink? And doesn?t include the picture? images/misc/amazon_icon.gif ?!?

That's because the YouTube embed code is not XHTML valid. Many aren't. There are steps you can take to validating it, but I don't recall where I found it, other than I remember I Googled it.

I don't know what you mean by reflink. Do you mean the affiliate ID? Of course, you'd need to add yours in. Mine doesn't work anymore anyway, as they dropped all their NC users. The image should have been there with your first installation of AME itself.

No, they will require a complete rework for AME 3.

Yes, it should be working for all URLs, but if you find an odd one out, post it here.

Unless we were supposed to upload the one titled "Game Trailers (Old)"

Yes, you'll need the old definition for older links that will still embed. As I mentioned, I endevoured to make sure old links would remain embedded where possible.

I've updated to the latest definitions. My board runs on vBulletin 3.7.4 PL1.

What I'll need to see is the links that aren't embedding and the posts where their not embedding.

Try rediting the post by pasting the URL back in without any of the BBCode tags.

The Game Trailers URL is mangled with the URL to your site for whatever reason.

Code:

http://www.shatteredplanet.org/forum/[url=%22http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-256-mag/51801%22]http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-256-mag/51801
Try just pasting the URL in again, as there's not reason the def should do that.

Code:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-256-mag/51801
http://www.cogonline.net/forums/show...50&postcount=5

I can't reproduce this bug with either video, however, I used to see this on older versions of AME when starting a new thread. Generally re-editing the post takes care of that. Of course, just don't re-edit the post with the current content, because it will just recreate it. You'll need to try pasting in the URL to the video fresh. Don't copy the URL in the post again, because it's mangled. Get the URL from where you got it the first time and resave.

Without being able to see the original thread where you have this posted, I can only guess here, but it looks like you have some kind of redirect link setup on your forum, so it's changing the URL your redirect. Also, you still didn't tell me what "reflink" means. Are you referring to your Affiliate ID? I haven't updated the definition to accommodate the new Affiliate ID just yet.

Also, your Amazon image came with AME by default. Unless you deleted it for some reason, just download it again from the original AME 2.5 thread or grab it from the original ZIP file.

For those encountering the same Flickr definition problem, note that the two Slideshow definitions for Flickr convert the Slideshows URLs, just as the description suggests. Not pages that happen to have the word "Photostream" on them. It's an unavoidable coincidence that a lot of Flickr's URLs look the same and the def tries to convert them, too, but since those defs rely on Extraction Data, the data isn't there. The Slideshow defs are for just that: Slideshows. Not pages that have pictures on them, but pages that have Slideshows on them. If you try to use anything else, it wont work.

I completely deleted the URL then saved my edit. I went back in and then re-added the URL with the same results. I tried it on a few videos.

Digital Jedi 01-05-2010 06:03 PM

Guys and Gals, I really think this needs to be mentioned, again.

"It's not working" and your vB version number is just not enough for, or even relevant to, fixing the problem. I only need two things in most cases. The links to the post where it's not working and the links to the media your trying to embed. If I need more than that I'll be sure to ask you for it, but at it's basest, that's what I need to start troubleshooting.

Also, unless there's some really good reason you don't want people visiting your website, please don't send them to me via Private Message or email. That doesn't help anyone who is experiencing a similar problem, and just clutters up my Inbox with stuff I could have answered just as easily here.

MonkYZ 01-05-2010 09:05 PM

Thx Digital Jedi for the great work. Unfortunatelly, for me too the Gametrailers code started to show garbage info after the update. Both Gametrailers and Gametrailers are now showing that strange code arround the embedded video.

For example: http://www.consolegames.ro/forum/f8-...os/index2.html . You can see there both the new and the old code showing strange things arround the video area.

Please let us know how to fix this. Thank you !

Yes I deleted all previous definitions then installed the master list. So I have both of those.

MagicThemeParks 01-06-2010 02:32 AM

DJ, I noticed that the AllPosters.com code is showing the Affiliate ID in the image and the line under the image, but not the title.

Here's an example: http://www.legendaryrockers.com/foru...thread.php?t=2

MagicThemeParks 01-06-2010 02:56 AM

DJ, one other thing. Should we still put new requests on your site?

I was looking for possibly adding: http://www.jiggy.com/

Gamelobby 01-06-2010 04:08 AM

Game Trailers have never worked correctly thru RSS feed, but i just have them moderated, until i can delete the last 4 characters, then they worked fine.. but now with the new definitions it doesn't work at all.

Here is the latest one that isn't working - Game Trailer Video
Here are a bunch of them - Trailer Section

Alright, since this seems to be coming up on a few forums, some brave soul is going to have to let me take a look at their Admin CP. If a couple of you can PM me temp access, I can try and do some cross comparing.

It won't, since that link is pulled from the template, and not the definition. You can get around that by turning the container off, and wrapping the embed code with your own container HTML with the ID, or just a simple container with no title. I can post an example a little later tomorrow.

Just thought I'd mention, the demo area on my site now has a thread for every working definition. As well as explanations for definitions that have special features or circumstances. Threads are alphabetized: http://www.cogonline.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=858

MjrNuT 01-07-2010 06:52 AM

Thanks for the great update DJ!

You got my needs to work with WeGame and some others.

Just for confirmation purposes with regard to WMV Local Hosted. I see on your site that it also Auto Starts. I've seen the code on my install and it is set to FALSE. However, your FAQ seems to address this from Post #2.

Quote:

Some of the videos start to play automatically, can I change it so that it doesn't auto start? Answer: In short, no. Some media sites don't provide the option, nor can it be worked into the embed code. However, all the definitions that do this are marked in their description with the phrase: (Auto Plays).
Therefore, I cannot make this respect my own created WMV video, correct?

Additional question on this as I'm not very knowledgable, but you can set the height and width of the embed window, however it should match the size you've created the media for consistency, correct? Meaning if I make a large one in widescreen, 848x???, then I should use the dimensions for the definition?

Thanks in advance. Lastly, your site of examples is just fantastic.

RadioErewan 01-07-2010 09:24 AM

Did something like this:
Regexp
Code:

(http://([\w-]+\.)+[\w-]+(/[\w- ./]*)+\.(?:gif|jpg|jpeg|png|bmp|GIF|JPEG|JPG|PNG|BMP|Gif|Jpg|Jpeg|Png|Bmp))
Replacement
Code:

<img class="tcattdimgresizer" onload="NcodeImageResizer.createOn(this);"
src='$p1' /></a>

And have scaling all of of external images using ncode image resizer.
W/o ncode Replacement could look like this
Code:

<img src='$p1' style="max-width:650px" /></a>
Thanks DJ for inspiration!

Hello,
i deleted all old definitions and imported the master XML
now all new youtube videos (i just tested youtube) do not work, posts just show URLs

Metacafe (i just tested) - works fine.
Any ideas what it could be?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUS1OMPWGPw link does only show as a link, if it wasn't parsed by AME plugin, it would be showing site and video name, not URL, so please let me know what to do

MagicThemeParks 01-07-2010 10:44 AM

DJ, do we use the embed code or the URL of the playlist for the playlist.com postings?

Do we have to do anything special with sharing the playlist on the site?

Edited: Found the URL to share on playlist and it worked.

Demo: http://www.legendaryrockers.com/foru...20&postcount=6

How do you edit the color of the 'background' behind the actual player?

Stryker412 01-07-2010 01:01 PM

DJ, I thought maybe my issue was that I was not running the latest vb so I updated.

I still have the issue with gametrailers. Here is the code that AME puts in to a post:

[url]http://www.gametrailers.com/video/za...tar-trek/60096

As you can see it puts in an extra url tag for some reason.

<

That particular entry in the FAQ is referring to the standard definitions, and not Local Hosted. I haven't updated Local Hosted just yet, but there's an error in the code I was using. It depends on what browser your using that the autoplay isn't disabled. Go into your definition and change the second, not the first, instance of autoplay="false" to autostart="0" and that should take care of the issue.

As for the height and width, they have to be fixed. I'm not sure if you have the most current version of it, but the height and width will be either what's in the definition or whatever you have set globally in the AME Settings height and width settings. You can't just have them resize to whatever the video parameters are. AME just doesn't know what those are going to be.

I've been asked to do something like this before, but I was always a little reluctant as to how it would interact with the average posts on the forum. Let me know how it works out.

I would probably go with something like this for the RegEx:
Code:

http://[w.]*[\w&;\.-]+\.[gifjpebmpn]+
Then just use $ameinfo[url] for the image source. Of course, either way, your going to have account for URLs that have characters like % or @ and add those characters in as you go. That stuff drives me crazy.

No reason why it shouldn't be. I tested the URL and got it to parse. Let me take a look at the post(s) in question.

Playlist was a work around, as their provided embed code is fine. But the id numbers I need are not accessible in the URL or the HTML of the page. So I had to fake it. It's just their pop out player inside of an iframe. So there's nothing you can do to changed the background, as it's their site producing it.

Clipfish is blocked in my country, so I wasn't able to do anything but update the embed code I had in the old definition. If you can get me a few more example URLs and embed code samples from the site (three or four each should do), I can work something up, but you would have to let me know if it's working.

For whatever reason, your Validation RegEx is not finding a match. Open up the YouTube definition and remove the contents of the Validation RegEx and save. Then re-edit your post.

SpyCam 01-07-2010 06:04 PM

ok, this is what i removed from "Validation" textarea:

Code:

value=&quot;http://www\.youtube\.com/v/([\w\-]*)?&amp;
And now it works:
http://www.muzikantams.com/alubaris/...u-youtube.html

Should i leave the definition as is now, or should i enter something into validation textarea?

DJ here's what I have for the Gametrailers definition:

Regular:

Code:

http://www\.gametrailers\.com/([u]*)[sermovievid-]+/[\w-]+/([\d]+)#*[\w]*
Replacement:

Code:

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"  codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392">
                <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
        <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
                <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?{$p1}mid=$p2"/>
                <param name="quality" value="high" />
                <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?{$p1}mid=$p2" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed>
</object>

Just want to verify this is correct.

You can leave it as is. Validation is just supposed to keep videos that have embedding disabled from converting. All that will happen now is they'll convert, but if embedding is not enabled it will just say so in video.

Try escaping the pound sign in your RegEx.
Code:

http://www\.gametrailers\.com/([u]*)[sermovievid-]+/[\w-]+/([\d]+)\#*[\w]*

OK, thanks,
now one more question, if i can ask.
I wanted to create and add a local tube site's definition, but i don't know how.
It uses JW player 4.3.132
The example URL:
http://tv.delfi.lt/video/aAEt8cWJ/

The embed code they offer:
Code:

<script type="text/javascript">var c = "Sportas"; </script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://tv.delfi.lt/js/embed.js?v=1.5"></script>
<script>var _delfiVideoX = 420;var _delfiVideoY = 334;var _delfiVideoSalt = "aAEt8cWJ";_createDelfiVideo();</script>

Do you have any idea what Regular expression URL code should i use and what Replacement HTML to put for it to work?

Thanks a lot in advance

I found out, that there are two Links for one Video and both are used by Clipfish, so I will give you both links for the following three examples. But I tested it out and after the video-ID you can put every string even with slashes, it is ignored.

Okay, that should be relatively simple. Give this definition a try and see if the sample URLs embed.

Digital Jedi, first of all, thank you for your work, it is really helpfull!
And i got one question, i tried to make a definition to play DivShare music and i made it but it plays everywhere but not in FireFox.
So this is what i used
Regular expression
PHP Code:

[http://]*[a-z]*?[\.]?divshare\.com/download/([\w\-]+)

Replacement
PHP Code:

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="335" height="85" id="divplaylist"><param name="movie" value="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist?myId=$p1/></object

End here's example link:
http://www.neformat.com.ua/forum/nef...ml#post1038345

I'm not good at it so i think i messed up something. I hope you can help me, coz my users badly want this option(
