suggestions for this mod.

1)If you could send a PM and/or email to the buyer and seller detailed wat was bought/sold, price and terms,

ontact information for both seller and buyer so both can go through and complete the transaction

2) Trader Reputations (which is already on your list)

3)your option in the settings "The name of your Vbay" maybe making the options through the mod have that name too.

Including the copyright down the bottom. so it all looks the part.

I wish i had some clue to how to do any of this

Is there still a problem with PM's in 1.1.7? I have just installed it, should I rather uninstall and use 1.1.6?

Sorry... this was meant for angelsbabies who asked just what was answered a few posts ago. It was obvious they didn't read anything. let alone the latest. I try to read the latest posts before asking my question... so I am not redunant! Again, my apoligies...

I sure hope a new release is soon... otherwise, this is not going anywhere on my forum and with the major issues, I am not sure how anyone is using it. I am not trying to complain... I am pointing out that these issues are serious, not just a hinderance.

I installed vBay on my 3.6.8 system. Everything seems to work well until you click "Sell" to try to sell an item.

I'm not sure if it's been said, or even if this has it as I am holding out until the new release that Blaine said he was working on, but I was wondering if there is a posting and selling fee like eBay has. eBay's fees are shown here; could something similar be included in this product?

Like maybe have it automatically sent to a specified PayPal account?

I'd like to politely request that a feature be added to be able to restrict access to Vbay by usergroup.

Ok... I think the author needs to take a serious look at the uninstall. I attempted to uninstall this and it hosed my whole database and forums. I tried everything to get it back and no luck. I had to completely reinstall my complete forum. It would NOT let me log on and kept giving me database errors... Please be advised that this program will hose up your database if you uninstall. Yes, I am pissed!

Be warned... It looked to be very promising.. but I couldn't wait for the new version... the current version has too many issues to be useful...

Hi Blaine... it messed it up big time. I was going to uninstall and wait for your new release to be working. When I did and after I cleared the cookies, it kept giving me vbay related errors in a database that was not part of my main vbulletin and was part of a classified program I had running. Why? I don't know... but it hosed up both and I couldn't even log on to my forum because it would give the database error and stop there. I lost it all! I can't remember the exact error, but I seen something was missing a vbay table... I was able to type in my admincp link and get into that... but nothing else worked... whatever I done it gave me the database error.

Also... I had the cpmsadvanced program installed... perhaps it was related to that...

But seriously, even though i think it has nothing to do with vbay, you should have made backups of your forum on a regular basis. You have to expect something to go wrong when installing 3rd party software.

So, why can't admins edit everything? Thats my only problem.

Another awesome feature would be turning off the shipping address etc as this will be for a freelance forum. It would be AWESOME if you could give my some info on when this will be released :)

I have backups! If you would have read my first complaint I clearly said that the vbay database error was related to a database that was not being used... It was on a database created for pp-classified program that I uninstalled long ago. How did that happen, beats me... it's your program and I am done with it!

If you think it is nothing, fine. This is a public forum and I am warning others. This program has potential, but too many serious issues you don't seem to think that is important... I'll seek another program... Have a good day!

I find your reply funny, coming from a person who has probably not even looked at the code to the product.

I especially like the fact how it is 100% my product, and im the insolent one for thinking it isn't.

This product uses the vbulletin database class, meaning it will only edit the database specified in your vbulletin config file.

If something got screwed up, its your fault, not mine or this products.

One suggestion...When you set a starting price the first bid always equals the starting price plus the first bid increment. EX: Starting price $20. Bid Increment: $10. The real fist bid is now $30 when it should be $20.

No problem, friend. :) I do understand and also try to read as many pages of posts as possible before asking for help. But I remember when I first started (not that long ago, 4-5 months), I was pretty overwhelmed as it was all new to me, and even the previous posts weren't comprehensible the way they are to me today, yk? awesome hack, but i got some questions ^^

When an auction is declined as auction+buy now - and sb. hits buy now, where can the seller see that his article was bought??? there is no PN or sth like that, the seller would never realize what happened to his auction.

listed in "closed austions" aou cannot see that is was bought by clicking "buy now" - you just see that the auction was ended...

Followed directions to the "tee". I'm using 3.6.8 PL2 vBulletin version.

Almost from the start, there were problems with text parsing. There also needs to be more editing capabilities. When and if the kinks are out...it may become a good addition.

Needless to say, "clicks uninstalled"...

To be more specific, the installation was flawless...until it came time to sell my first item. As I was entering text to describe the item...the font color wasn't working. When I finished entering text and went to view the item, most of the description I just got finished typing was gone. I went to edit the text, and afterwards...all showed up, but there was a BBCode parsing problem. It would show [i] and the text was italicized in the description.

Another problem with this mod...is that the only thing that can be edited is the text description...what's up with that? What if I need to add another image? Change shipping costs?

I also setup the new usergroup as a public joinable group, but when I tried adding a test user, and went through the process of joining the group through vBay...I was told after clicking the Join Group button, that the group doesn't appear to be a public group...when, in fact, it is.

So...needless to say, you still have a few kinks to iron out there. Then again, it could be the mods I already have installed conflicting with this new one...who knows...

I'm just not ready to give up what I already have installed for a vBay mod.

Thanks for the feedback, im not sure exactly what is causing the bbcode thing you mentioned, it might go along with the drop down menu bug and the description being cut off (which only happen in IE btw)

As for the lack of options and features, this still is a beta product and im still working on adding new things!

No surprise as I do not see vbay tables in mysql database after I imported product via vBulletin Admin (v3.6.8). Any ideas?

i have question the information they asked i told my members make them falase as we are using to trade within the site and not shipping anything anywhere...however once the bid in vbux is placed i cant close the auction how come please guide

Just waded through 70+ pages of this thread.

I also visited some sites that installed vBay.

Here is a suggestion:
It would be very helpful to list the last few bid amounts and their respective bidders' names, up to say 10 bids, or at least 5 bids.

That would make the bidding more informative and interesting, and will likely encourage more participation and hence more bids. As you may know, people tend to be more willing to participate when they see more details and information. Psychologically, it creates more confidence and trust, and therefore less inhibition and greater willingness to participate i.e. to bid.

You're making good progress towards a final stable release. Great work! And I wish you godspeed!

added the ability to sort auctions by name end time and price

oh and allowed it so you can set shipping and stuff to 0

I'm observing this nice modification for our rc-forum.

The reasons I still cannot use VBay are the following missing base functionallity:

• edit auctions
  category, price, shipping ...
• reactivate completed auctions
• delete completed auctions from database
• display total number of completed auctions
  in categories of completed auctions

Please give us first all required basics that we can use the module, later you can think about advanced features. :)
