Anthony, sorry if I missed it, but is there a way to set this up so only admins can have access to use it? Or specific members?

Boofo ? you can do both if you wish. You can set a minimal usergroup requirement via the Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Advanced Editing Options for Mods and Admins and then override that setting for individuals users.

Ah, ok, thanks. I didn't see the setting in the vb settings list. Doh on me. ;)

Yup, what he said (and thanks for finally replying in one of my threads / congrats on "master coder") :)

I only got Master Coder status because Crap Coder was too hard for them to spell, I think. ;)

Excellent job on the hack here, sir. ;)

I do need to ask one question though, what is the custom time checkbox for? If we change the time we have to tick that for it to take effect?

Yes, you need to check the box. That was created in order to prevent a side effect (here's someone's quote from before):

You know. Sometimes you're replying to a thread, get distracted or get into something that requires research, and it can be quite a while before you actucally click Submit.

But, since the Advanced Editing Options are displayed then, the post is marked as being posted at the time you started writing. It can cause it to be out of order.
If you don't check the box, either the system time will be used (on new posts) or no change will be made (on post edit).

Good idea. I think I ran into that same sort of problem earlier today on another hack. ;)

When you get some time, IM me or pm me and I will give you my IM info. I need your expertise on something. ;)

Will this hack allow a user to overide the system default so that he can always edit his post, and not be restricted by the system-wide edit time limit I have configured?

akanevsky 04-28-2006 12:58 AM

What does edit time limit have to do with this hack?

All times are GMT. The time now is 10:12 AM.
