Boofo ? you can do both if you wish. You can set a minimal usergroup requirement via the Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Advanced Editing Options for Mods and Admins and then override that setting for individuals users.

Yes, you need to check the box. That was created in order to prevent a side effect (here's someone's quote from before):

If you don't check the box, either the system time will be used (on new posts) or no change will be made (on post edit).

Will this hack allow a user to overide the system default so that he can always edit his post, and not be restricted by the system-wide edit time limit I have configured?

What does edit time limit have to do with this hack?
