HMBeaty,

Nice job on the mod. It's obvious you spent a lot of time with everything, put together a nice readme, etc. I'll buy it when it goes to 1.4.0 with the options you mentioned it will have.

But, I really dislike the "backdoor" thing where it sends you an email when someone installs the mod. It's backdoor because I didn't know about it. If I had known about it I wouldn't care, but I dislike things sending emails and such without my knowledge. Sure, I could be expected to read every line of php code, but I guess I usually trust people who have high marks on vb.org.

I just double checked the top summary section of this thread, as well as the bundled readme file, just to make certain you didn't give notice about this -- and I can't see where you did.

Mike

While this is not the worst thing ever it is still uncalled for. And is very shady. I suggest to any one that installs this devs mods to read every line of code. Or do like me and from now on just ignore there releases.

Offending code located in the XML.
PHP Code:

<installcode><![CDATA[vbmail("webmaster@usmilitarylife.com"'New Staff Application Install/Upgrade''Staff application version 1.3.1 has been installed/upgraded on ' $vbulletin->options['bburl']);]]></installcode

I suggest that line of code be removed or altered. If dev knows any thing about the military he should know this was a blue falcon move.

Has anyone tried it on vBulletin 4.0.x to see if it works on that?

How hard is it for the developer to say that if anything is planned for the future release or not?

I too am very interested in using this on my 4.0 forums - Thanks!
