I apologize if any of my comments sounded rude or out of place for you. Just that I am really trying to do something with my site and having a good profile system is all I need so far. Again, I am truly sorry DC PS. does the Autonomy License completely removed the top header so that we can use our own default header? if thats the case then I am up for it and how much would it cost? |
Thanks for the PM Dchapman. May aswell ask you here since others are asking too, be easier for you to answer us all together:) Is the $20 per month for the Autonomy License the only option or is there a once off payment option too? Could you please also explain the advantages this would have over this hack for those who prefer to keep it completely localised?

It costs $20.00 per month or a one time payment of $120.00. |

Advantages over the free version? There aren't any in my opinion. What would be the advantages for a city in the USA that blew up all their major roads in and out? Do you really think that will keep the people in that want to leave the city? It sure keeps lots of people out and stops all kinds of interaction. If communities truly become interconnected (and they will, even if its not Zoints that pulls it off) we're going to have a few virtual North Korea's on the internet I think. |

and + copyright removal That means NOTHING left from zoint correct me if im wrong? |
Ah, that's good there's a one time payment option:)
I know the whole purpose of this is to connect it with zoints for you guys. However this looks to be a very nice hack and can provide many communities with more than that, and the more may be the only thing they are after. I don't think it's the connecting with other users the admins are afraid of. Speaking strictly for me (we both could have died then and there, sorry, lyrics from a song:P) the thing I would not like about the extra nav bars, searching other communities, having options to explore other communities etc is that it would just add more features and complications for our users to work out. Some of our users are technically minded, but a lot of them aren't. And as the saying goes, sometimes less is more. We want our users to use the features on our site and not get lost going off to another site when they think they are still exploring poker.ie. Also, for a website like mine where we offer a service and prefer to keep talk of other competing services like ours to a minimum, linking to other forums is a bad idea. There's also the fact that for forums discussing a broad topic like poker, the quieter forum may come out bad because as we all know, when we ask a question in a forum, we like to see as many replies in as quick a time as possible. If a user starts a topic in another forum and gets a better response than in our forum, that wont be good for us and we may lose them. Even though the general community of poker may now have a poster who is more active because their threads get more responses, our community will have lost a valuable member. It's happened before. One of our best posters saw another site mentioned in a thread on our forum and now posts there primarily. Even a slight mention of somewhere else could mean the loss of a user. Hope you understand my concerns as I'm sure they are shared by many here. |
