Well, sorry if this has been answered already, but how do you fix the shout box to be able to use symbols?

hhhmmm pretty sure you should be able to run it no problem I would redo your install making sure you follow the directions very closely. And I would think this is not the proper place to ask for support for that version considering it was not released here.

The point of this would be to keep the top ten shout count that users have accumulated without having to keep the large database table

in the last pic it shows moderation im guessing.. where would i find this?

Um, That would be the archive.
Just click on the title "Shoutbox" or whatever you have it and it will take you there :)

other problem i seem to have is since installing this, every now and then my site just freezes for me and no link does anythink. i hve to close IE and reopen it and hten i can access my site again

That would most likely be a shoutbox problem on your site
is it just this shoutbox mod that has done it? Could be a low use of host.

I have forum version 3.6.4 but not happy that this shoutbox doesn't work in a standalone iframe, althought it works directly on the forum, but we'd also like it to work in a standalone iframe, if this can be done. Can someone let me know

I have just installed on 3.6.4 and so far have had no problems.
