Thanks, yeah I recently have 4 blocked spammers......

Installed it and it works great... kinda. I disabled the spam-o-matic easy clean up feature because it's server intensive and times out on my forum right now. However, I disabled the spam-o-matic easy clean up feature, but the option still shows up in my inline mod actions box

What does it do? Does it do anything even though the system is disabled?

I' getting a error message when I use the
Users > Search for users > List New Registrations > UserID > Quick User Links > Spam-O-Matic - Remove and ban user

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/admincp/glowhostspamomatic.php on line 108

Is this supposed to work like this?
How can I correct this error message?

Problem:
I always received the error message above when I used the Remove and Ban user.
Manage Products > Add/Import Product always failed when upgrading to the newer version.

Solution:
I checked for any "old" files left from Version 1 and deleted them.
I copied the existing Akismet API Key & StopForumSpam API Key to notepad
I uninstalled the mod from Plug-Ins and Products > Manage Products
I manually deleted each of the files from each of the folders on the server.
I manually uploaded the file ./includes/xml/product-glowhostspamomatic.xml
I manually uploaded each file into the appropriate server folder
I used AdminCP for Plug-in products > Manage products > Add/Import
I used the uploaded file path > ./includes/xml/product-glowhostspamomatic.xml

Conclusion:
This time (for the first time) the Spam-O-Matic imported correctly with no errors.
I pasted the API keys back into the Settings > Options > GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic
Modified any options in Options > GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic and saved with no issues.
GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic appears to be working correctly now with no errors or issues.

hello

This mod had been fantastic and worked perfectly for months now preventing tons of potential spammers. All of a sudden spammers are managing to register and I am getting the message below in the logs, any ideas please.

Unable to connect to StopForumSpam.com. This is probably due to some temporary problems on their website: Unable to check. User passed to vBulletin registration system per your settings at 'StopForumSpam:

Considering how you are limited to 20,000 queries per-day with StopForumSpam, maybe you just ran out of queries, and then the mod itself kicked in to deal with the overflow.

Thanks for advice VB Results appreciate it. My forums is not that busy so not the case.

I am desperate for help here, your spamming mod the I am running in conjunction with this one is really helping but I really need this working again urgently.

If you are on a shared host with a shared IP, others could be using StopForumSpam so it is possible. I'm able to query their database just fine;

Is there anything I can check my end in my own VB to see why it suddenly cant connect to stop forum spam website

rhody401 03-18-2013 03:03 PM

Wasn't there a thread way back up there about changing the default URL that it uses to check stopforumspam's database? I remember editing my code, per the instructions, to change where it communicates.

I assume this was already done for us in the current version. Are you running the current version?

Just a possible theory as to why you are having this issue.

Best regards
Rhody
