Not yet. I'll definetly look into it the coming week.

Swedie 11-13-2005 08:28 AM

I just updated version 104 with an Upgrade step from v1.03 to v1.04.

v1.00 to v1.02 will be left unsupported.

T3MEDIA 11-13-2005 08:59 AM

How can one get the upgrade from 1.02 to 1.03 or its not needed since in the upgrade script it says "
Next step!
Click here to do replace current Modify_Webpage template with new code -->"?

T3MEDIA 11-13-2005 09:18 AM

is it normal to see
PHP Code:

// start the navbar
$navbits = array("usercp.php?$session[sessionurl]=> $vbphrase['user_control_panel']);

three times in profile php????

I can see the previous script for webpage. Im just curious to see if I had redundant code in my php. Thanks guys.

T3Media, simply run the v1.04 update. v1.03 is null / void now that v1.04 is here. It updates the same areas.

btw, it doesn't really matter that line is in your profile.php page three times as it only updates itself. But do remove the 2 extras if there are next to eachother. Otherwise, leave alone.

Thanks for the super fast reply. I did that... but... now when I hit edit webpage the box is empty eventhough I have a full html webpage. if I hit vbcode the box doesnt show... just everything around it.

so it seems like something is missing.

Did you update profil.php with the new code and also upload it to the server? No other changes was made. Only in profile.php and modify_webpage.

Just because its so funny I had to post this.
I uploaded my php file exactly when there was a back up restore. to the instant second. Wow... that was cool. LOL. Well when the restore was done obviously the php was removed. the reinstall was due to something that happened earlier in the day... the install was being done in the morn when no one was online. Silly me had to go and update the guestbook. lol.

ANYHOO... had to share that... cool odd and funny and like duh at the same time. but yeah... I uploaded it... does like the image shows...

does this mean this script can be used on vb 3.5.1?? or v1.0.4 has nothing to do with vb 3.5.1?? :ermm:

Ghostsuit 11-14-2005 01:39 AM

Nah this versions for 3.0.x he's still to do a version for 3.5.1

Sean S 11-14-2005 01:53 AM

thank you for the update Swedie :)

inverted 11-14-2005 11:33 AM

has this been released for 3.5 yet?
(or is there a similar add on for profile enhancement on vb3.5?)

Flow Fusion 11-14-2005 11:37 AM

He's working on it for 3.5.

Just posted a new version of version 1.04. I didn't want to go to v1.05 as it would be too pointless. So I just re-released version 1.04.

There's an upgrade step from v1.02 or v1.03. Just follow them and you'll be set.

As always "it should work" :D

Check header post for what is updated. Quite an important bug was fixed that caused guestbooks to sieze after they reached a certain size.

Benj 11-15-2005 03:04 PM

What is Ajax?

Benj 11-15-2005 05:09 PM

googles technology that allows you to submit data the the database / whatever without reloading the page....

this might help you

cdoyle 11-18-2005 10:38 PM

I can't wait for the 3.5 version. This is much better hack compared to the other one.

The other webpage hack, has problems with html tables and since most users have a hard enough time creating a webpage to start with. Having tables not work doesn't help.

Swedie 11-20-2005 08:45 AM

Great. thanks for the link. I'll look into Ajax a bit more and decide later if Ajax is what I need. Don't want to make it more advanced than it has to be.

I am a little busy for a few days ahead but I'll definetly start working on it coming week.

Swedie 11-22-2005 04:54 PM

I'm right in a possible house buy and it's taking time to finish so I'm sorry I can't work on the script at this very moment.

Just want to let you guys know!!

Flow Fusion 11-30-2005 09:48 AM

bump. Cause I'm hungry for this. lol.

Kyderoy 12-09-2005 04:11 PM

Any progress on this?

What table hold the users names for signed guestbooks?
I want to purge all old deleted members from the guestbook.

Please and thank you!

cdoyle 12-11-2005 04:57 PM

Hi Swedie,
How is the development of the 3.5 version going?

I really want to upgrade my forum, but going to hold off, until this hack is ready. I really love this hack, and don't want to lose it.

noreturn 12-18-2005 11:34 PM

Hi Ya Swedie,
scribe to thread to watch for the release for 3.5.2 Keep us posted, and THANK YOU.

solboy 12-19-2005 01:59 AM

LoL. I think Swedie needs to have a countdown timer for the new release of this hack just to clam some nerves :D

Maybe the vb.org team can add a countdown timer as an option to coders?

Neutral Singh 12-19-2005 03:31 AM

Guestbook and Webpage for 3.5.x is one the most wanted plugins, please do something about it. Thanks

cdoyle 12-20-2005 10:26 PM

Any updates?

I have the next 2 1/2 weeks off from work, and one of my projects was updating my forum to 3.5

I hope there has been some progress

Kyderoy 12-23-2005 08:57 PM

Guess nothing is happening with this... :(

use the member page :P it does the same thing

cdoyle 12-24-2005 05:59 AM

That one doesn't work as nice as this one does. For some reason it doesn't like HTML Tables, and creates this huge space on your page if you try and use them.

I hope Swedie is working on this.

MojoNixon 12-24-2005 07:04 AM

Yeah ..thats right ..That memberpage thingy is quite useless ...i don“t want any Nickpages, i just want the information in the profile page, like it was common in Swedies Hack. So i guess its time to wait, i already switched to 3.5.x but my users are quite inpatient and just want their guestbooks back. ;-)
I can be patient, but i have to keep my users in my mind so it depends in the amount of time to the release....the "A better profile" hack is also an alternative.
But Swedies hack is the optimum at the moment.

ambrosious 12-30-2005 01:06 AM

I could use some help here, when trying to set the permissions in Usergroups in the Admincp, I get the following error:

WHERE usergroupid=6
mysql error: Unknown column 'canhaveguestbook' in 'field list'

Does anyone know of a fix? I tried to follow the discussion in this thread but did not see this issue.

Thanks in advance for the help!

MixMakers 12-30-2005 04:59 PM

Great hack! Does anyone have some html templates by any chance?
