Glad to see such a this nice plugin exists!

We have a very large vBulletin forum with more than 200,000 registered users and a joomla website with daily 20 contents and 10,000 unique visitors. We want to have single sign on on them but there are lots of duplications. How your plugin handle this problem?

Also, What about usergroup permissions? As you know in Joomle we have editor,author, manager and etc but in vB we've defined lots of custom usergroups with different access level to forums and moderation tools.

Thanks In advance.

I am using vb 4.2.2 and wordpress 4.2..i followed the instructions clearly for the installation but I am getting this, whenever I try to access wordpress admin dashboard:

We are sorry, we are not able to process the operation further. Your account should satisfy the single sign-on requirements. Please contact your administrator to solve this issue.

any fix for it? all vbsso access settings are at default

To resolve this issue please check if user's email and loginname are identical (on both platforms).
But, if the issue persists, please, contact us again.

In case of duplication you might see an error message.

The only case when vBSSO plugin works properly is when UserName=>Email on both platforms. In case when user has not been registered the vBSSO plugin will automatically create new user and the system will work correctly.

Whether you are looking to resolve a synchronization issue our team provides a variety of assisted support services. If you would like to implement this feature, we can discuss it in more detail.

You are right. User Group synchronization is not implemented for Joomla for now. Such feature was implemented only for Wordpress platform. If you would like to implement this feature, we can discuss it in more detail too. You can submit a service request.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our team.

Thank you for using vBSSO,

Yes it was a new wordpress installation with only one demo/wordpress admin account, I just checked it..users are there with ditto same vbullletin names and emails but still we all admins are getting this annoying error:

Edit: This is super weird, it's working in internet explorer but not in firefox and chrome. I deleted all the cookies, history, cache and found that it's only working in internet explorer, in other browsers I am getting the same error which I stated above.

Could you please contact support team http://vbsso.com/report-an-issue/ describing the steps you use to reproduce your case on your website.

Is it possible to share the user database between two vbulletin boards using this plugin?

Yes you are right. You can share the user database between two vbulletin boards using the vBSSO plugin. But remember please in order to synchronize user database:

- user should log in to the master platform and only after that user will be synchronized automatically on the slave platform.

If you have any further questions or need further assistance, please let us know!

I uploaded the files for VBSSO to my vbulletin install, and when I go to install the xml, I get the following: 'The following PHP extensions are required to be installed zip before installing or upgrading this product!'

I went and checked my PHP config, and there isn't an option for 'zip' in there anywhere. Have you any thoughts on what might be happening here?

Please, contact your hosting provider and ask them to install "ZIP" extension (http://php.net/manual/en/book.zip.php).
The issue should not persist any longer.

Hi, I am using this to bridge vb/wp, I noticed in the release notes it says:

Custom vBulletin login page
Custom vBulletin registration page

I am wondering how I can achieve this I can't see anything in the documentation?

Also, is it possible to pull over the vbulletin members user ID to WP?

Thanks

1. Usually vBulletin login page is homepage of forum. You can change it if you have some custom page in AdminCP ->vBSSO -> Link Custom Pages
2. Yes, we transfer user ID when authorize, but we don't use it. Could you name please the reason why do you want to pull over the user ID to WP?

Is it not possible to login via wp-login.php ? Should all logins be done from the forum?

I have an issue when logging in via forum, user is successfully logged in, but then the error is:

If you login via wp-login.php, you will login only in Wordpress in a way that bypasses vBSSO

All logins should be done through the Forum or Wordpress widget "vBSSO Login Form"

Shill360 07-23-2015 10:40 AM

Hello,

I'm having a problem with vbsso. I installed everything correctly and connected the platform to my Wordpress site.

There seems to be a problem logging in though. It freezes during log-in and when I click 'Click here if your browser does not automatically redirect you' it says: We are sorry, we are not able to process the operation further. Your account should satisfy the single sign-on requirements. Please contact your administrator to solve this issue.

Then I refresh and I'm logged into vBulletin, but not Wordpress.

Any tips?

This message appears during log in - if user has different email addresses on vBulletin and Wordpress platforms. If they are not identical it may cause problems.

Please check email addresses of user which is trying to log in. Make them identical and the issue should not persist any longer. But, if the issue persists, please, contact us again.

Thanks for making this system possible.

We have a filehosting script from another vendor, wondering if you can make vbsso work with it so that we can sync members login data from vbulletin and utilize the same for the filehosting script authentication and so on.

Certainly, we can provide support. Please contact us at http://vbsso.com/request-new-feature/ and provide a more detailed description of a possible support for vBSSO that you want to implement? We can discuss it in more detail.

Hi xeagle,
odd problem started occurring recently for all users (mediawiki bridge)... no one can log into the wiki anymore.
the only potential reason is php upgrade to php 5.6.11. i am running the latest version of vbsso.
(nothing changed in the settings, so not sure why this started)..

see log below:

Quote:

Sun Aug 2 08:57:57 2015,035 [16688] DEBUG localFileLogger - Communication: Platform returned http status code: 200
Sun Aug 2 08:57:57 2015,035 [16688] DEBUG localFileLogger - Communication: Platform returned error:
Sun Aug 2 08:57:57 2015,035 [16688] DEBUG localFileLogger - Communication: Platform returned response: {"product":9,"version":"1.24.2","plugin_version":" 1.0.2","error":"Wrong Shared Password"}
Sun Aug 2 08:57:57 2015,036 [16688] DEBUG localFileLogger - Communication: Platform returned decoded response:
Sun Aug 2 08:57:57 2015,036 [16688] DEBUG localFileLogger - array (
'product' => 9,
'version' => '1.24.2',
'plugin_version' => '1.0.2',
'error' => 'Wrong Shared Password',
)

Update 1: Downgraded to php 5.5, and its working again. so looks like a php version issue...
ndahiya

ps: still hoping for mediawiki 1.25 support....

Thank you for your attentiveness. This problem will be corrected in a future release of Mediawiki. Also, we do expect a supportive release for Mediawiki 1.25 in the nearest future.

One of my clients has Vbulletin and 2 WordPress installs on the same domain. Is it possible to tie all 3 sites together?

Most definitely! You are completely right. It is possible to tie all 3 sites together.

meadwench 08-09-2015 01:57 PM

I have gotten vBSSO installed and connected on my VB and Wordpress installations. I am now assigning roles in Wordpress for levels.

However, we have levels in VB for 'Guest', 'Banned' and 'Double Secret Probation' (this last is a restricted access level when a poster has broken forum rules but is not banned), and 'Moderated Users' (cannot post for a time).

In looking at the Wordpress settings, the lowest setting is 'Subscriber'. How can I indicate banned or restricted users? I do not want banned users able to post in my Wordpress install.

Please advise, and thanks! This has been really easy to install and connect.

Thanks,

Vicky Rowe

Certainly, you can do it on vBSSO vBulletin->`Access Settings` Page:
- Allowed User Groups: means groups id that will have permission to be authenticated in all platforms via vBSSO. Those users who are not in this groups will be authenticated ONLY in vBulletin but not in connected platforms.
- Allowed platform_name User Groups: means groups id that will have permission to be authenticated in platform_name platform. You can ignore this option, in case you are already inserted groups id in `Allowed User Groups` option. But if you will have two platforms you can separately set up groups id for the each connected platform.
- Associated platform_name User Groups: means that those users who had registered or logged in from connected platform site will be added to those user groups.

For example: connect vBSSO WordPress and vBSSO Joomla to vBSSO vBulletin.
Fill in these fields:
Allowed User Groups: 1,2,3,4.
Allowed WordPress User Groups: 1,2.
Allowed Joomla User Groups: 3,4.
This will mean that all 4 groups will have a permission to be authenticated in all platforms, but the first and the second - only in WordPress, the third and the fourth - only in Joomla.

And, Login Access Settings: points the platform on which user will be authenticated (depends on the platform on which the login event is invoked).

meadwench 08-10-2015 05:34 PM

Excellent, thank you. I will check this out right away!!

meadwench 08-10-2015 05:59 PM

Is there a step-by-step overview of each of the various settings in the VBulletin set up? I did not see it on the website. I see several settings I am curious about and wish to learn more.

Thanks!

Please, do next:
1. Log in to your forum?s `/admincp/` control panel as administrator.
2. Navigate to `vBSSO`-->`Connect a platform`.
3. Find your WPconnection in `Connected Platforms`Box and press `Remove`button.
This will disconnect your platforms.

If you have any further questions or need further assistance, please let us know!

To resolve this issue, please, check if user's email and loginname are identical. If they are not identical it may cause problems. You should make the usernames and emails identical on both platforms (try to disconnect WordPress from vBulletin and to redefine your login name and email on both WordPress and vBulletin platforms).

zapiy 08-18-2015 04:43 PM

Thanks for your time on this, something is not quite right with something..

The only way to disconnect the platforms even after removing the connection in vb is to delete the database and reinstall..

Once reinstall has completed i follow your instruction.. i know the passwords are ok as the connection between the software fails if thats incorrect..

Once i disconnect and clear the cache on my PC i have the same problems again.
