By default, it just takes too much space when you have post with anything more than 10+ likes.

I'll give it another swirl and see if maybe I'm missing something.

and now I'm getting a DB error, even with over-write.

So I worked my way around the DB error by re-installing 6.2 and then installing 7.2 again and now this happens to GUEST ONLY.

I think I'm about to give up on this mod, lol.

EDIT: 7.1.1 works fine, but I still need to get rid of the thank-post count box introduced by this mod.

This is exactly why, you'd be in pain knowing how long that box extends...thank you for your effort, but I think we're officially gonna pass on this product :)

-Completely uninstall the old .xml in product manager.
-Ensure livenotifications.css is reverted (you did not edit it before if installed)
-Install and overwrite new .xml

Okay, we found a minor glitch. If you experience lag, disable vBulletin Facebook Connect for this verison, as we will have it fixed in the next version.

P.S For those that are experiencing the db issues, you can either 1. delete those existing columns from phpmyadmin > user > structure > (the ln_ ) tables, or wait for a version with fixes. Seems like the uninstall doesn't completley uninstall it and thus a duplicate column is is being created/prevented)

Is there a way to only use the icons, i have my own header, and i would like to use this mod, but i don't want that bar, i would like just the code to place the icons where i want them to be if at all possible.

Yep - theres a setting at the bottom of vbsocial settings:

Enable fixed livenotificaion header?
Set to no
Enable fluid fixed livenotificaion header?
Set to yes

Alright, i did those settings, i put the code where i want it, but the icons line up vertically and i need them horizontal, how would i got about making them horizontal? I am trying to get this mod to work with Header Rework 4 and i want the icons to replace where it says Last Activity: in that mod. WHen i put your code in its location, i get them lined up vertically on the box after each line.

Edit: These 2 mods conflict with eachother and i don't know how to resolve it myself. >8(

Haha, yeah I figured a "header" re-work would conflict with ours. vBSocial Notifications does major header rework.

Damnit, i know i can't request you to change your mod just to suit that template header, and the mod creator of Header Rework 4 never comes online anymore. This sucks because i want both! I pm'd him but i doubt he will respond.

1. Disable Facebook connect in vbulletin

2. Copy livenotifications.css contents into additional.css and see if that helps.

any way to get the bar on the bottom of the page? I don't want the bar to be up top

Check out livenotifications.css. You'll have to tweak or reverse most of the settings to get this to work the way you want.

I've seen it work with some sites, if your site lags big time, for whatever reason, its' cause of this. Try it out. :)

Davaite: Very interested in vbsocial, vbwall, as I am sure many of us are. Reading the above posts it sounds as if Facebook Connect has to be disabled for vbsocial to work at this time. Was I interpreting this statement correctly?

Would you consider this product stable at this time for a very large board?

I have not tried out the product, but have seen it on several low usage boards. Our board takes a pounding since it is a company wide intranet board (15K active users, 2-5k posts a day). What do you suggest?

That wall tech I just bought and installed makes the whole site chug, and it looks terrible installed. I am going to ask for a refund. My forums sees 1.3-1.6 million visits a month and churns a ton of bandwidth as its all art and images...and this tech does not function well with that amount of traffic going through it. Finding out now that I have to shut off facebook connect as a possible solution is not acceptable. FB integration is key nowadays. That should be posted on your site. I would never have bought it. How do I get a refund?

Yeah Facebook buggers out the site when enabled. Will be fixed in next version. Thanks for patience.

If facebook is enabled, it will take a pounding in current version due t oa glitch. But we've seen it on some very large boards with fb disabled.
