Bummer. I am stuck with a broken installation. Anyone have 3.0.8 so I can go back?

Action-N 02-03-2013 07:24 PM

I had to make a comment on the style an layout of this mod needs major work. I want to have this add on for my new website, but it doesn't match the design of the default vbulletin. I thought I just needed to change the tables style code to use the vbulletins theme, but getting overwhelmed with the amount of work involved. Hope the author sees this an realizes it's time to do a fresh rewrite. Even in his own posted screenshots of the timeslip page the text is against the border. The first image has the category images without spacing bunched up with each other an the border. An the top box doesn't have text so it's not at the same height. Plus the garage counts aren't showing correctly for the categories.

Less focus on features, more on design now please.

nothing but issues when trying to upload new photos...

@Dylanblitz
Since you haven't posted in this thread in a long time, and haven't done any updates to the garage script. Does this mean you're no longer going to support it? Would you be opposed to someone else taking over development of this mod? It's such a great add-on, and I would love to see more features added, and the bugs fixed.

Could you let the community know, and then if he's OK with it. Is there anyone who would be willing to work on this?

Chris

I would love to see improvements in this mod, but I'm afraid it's dead :(

Action-N 02-21-2013 01:54 AM

It's not dead they have their own website, click "Visit Web Site" under developers name. Besides it's only been a few months since last update geesh. However it does need work, my opinion a complete rewrite an to refocus on the point of the mod. I wanted to build a garage mod for years an looks like there is still a need for an honest no bull crap garage mod.

fulviods 03-04-2013 10:03 AM

I'm on a vb 4.1.11 and just upgraded the script to the last version. I have 3 main bugs, how to solve this problem ?

1) the link to the garage in the main navbar menu is not working it just send me to the forum homepage ! how to change the url ?

2) in the previous version we added html text in the "Garage welcome message", but now the html is no more recognized. How to switch this field in html ?

3) if i enable SEO Urls the pages dont work anymore . I cut and pasted the lines in the seo page into my htaccess but its not working...

If someone can help me with those points??

fulviods 03-06-2013 07:05 AM

no one ? ??

Mark4865 04-02-2013 11:51 AM

Suddenly cant get photos to upload all other info is fine when adding a vehicle but when trying to include and image it just says cant move image but I am uploading as per normal from my PC

Any ideas, all help appreciated

This is one of my favorite mods. However, it seems to be dying a slow and painful death. It doesn't work the way it should, and I can't seem to turn it off. I don't want to rip it out, as I would likely lose everything associated with it. However, this may become necessary sometime soon.

Dylan, if you are out there please let us know if this mod is something you will continue to support at some point, or if it is done. I do appreciate your work on the mod so far, and you have always been helpful.

Thanks!

Try disabling it, and see if things are restored.

I don't think he comes here anymore, I've went to his official site and I see him posting there. I registered but for some reason I can't post, so not able to ask any questions.

Somebody go over there, and ask him to check here. Tons of questions have been asked here, but not answered.

no luck. Im afraid is is something to do with the files that I uploaded to my forum root.

whitey92lx 04-16-2013 03:03 PM

Ok, I disabled VBSEO and it fixed the issue. Is there an incompatibility issue with this garage feature and VBSEO? I have had v 3.0.8 installed for a long time without any issues. I update today and then this. Im running vb 4.2.0

whitey92lx 04-16-2013 03:37 PM

Is there a way to disable the Garage tab in the nav links without disabling any of the other garage features?

edit.

figured out I could disable it using VB Navigation manager.

fulviods 04-22-2013 11:55 AM

Dont work perfectly on 4.2 :( nav link problems... no one know what to do to make it compatible?

mustangguy1230 05-04-2013 04:12 AM

Having an issue where comments aren't posting. Any ideas?

cdoyle 05-23-2013 11:23 AM

Has anyone tried posting on his forum, to let him know people here are have questions. I tried, but for some reason my account is not activated or something.

Action-N 05-24-2013 12:39 AM

Last thing I read about it from his website was he has been working for DBTech helping with their add-ons. It looked like he was responding to posts on his site, but nothing about anything new. An what I see with this mod it was gonna need a rewrite so might be why the neglect. I was gonna try working with this, but was worried it wouldn't be stable with heavy traffic so I've been looking for an alternative.

Is anyone else able to create an account on this forum and ask a question?
My original account says that it doesn't have the right permissions. I thought maybe i never clicked the activiation email.

So I just created another account, and clicked the email. Tried to reply to a thread, and I still get the error.

It's been this way for months.

Indy CTS-V 08-23-2013 05:44 PM

I woud like to add this mod to 4.21 but honestly....with all the errors it is scaring me even trying to do so. Anybody have this successfully running on 4.21? or even 4.20?

Andy.H 08-23-2013 07:10 PM

We have it running succesfully on 4.2.0, but it did require a very small bit of code tweaking by our site tech to work with our forum. Not sure what he did if I'm honest, but it works :)

cdoyle 08-23-2013 07:53 PM

I have it running on our 4.2 board
http://www.caraudiocentral.net/forums/forum.php

I think the most current version has most of the bugs fixed. I just wish the developer would still support the lite version. I tried to contact him about not being able to post on his forum. I had some questions about the mod, but he said that non license users can only post in off topic there.

Did you by any chance manage to fix this? I'm facing the same issue.

As a temporary 'fix' what I done was set the link to 'admin only' in the Garage general settings, then edited my navbar template with a link to garage.php

This means Admins now have 2 'Garage' links (1 working and 1 not working), but normal users only see the working link.

Would really like to fix this properly though so if anyone has a fix please let me know. Thanks

I was able to fix the link problem by unchecking/disabling two references to the menu tab in plugin manager. They are "Garage Menu Button" and "Garage Menu Button 4.2".

whitey92lx 10-10-2013 05:59 PM

There seems to be a conflict with VB 4.2.2

ozzy47 10-10-2013 06:04 PM

That's helpful, define conflict.

whitey92lx 10-10-2013 06:13 PM

here is the error message at the top of the main index after install of vb 4.2.2. I have disabled the VB Pro garage time slips product for now and it is now showing this message anymore.

ozzy47 10-11-2013 01:16 PM

Not a problem, glad to help. :)

mustangguy1230 10-22-2013 03:05 PM

I'm getting this error in 4.2.2 when trying to have random images at the top of the forum home. When I remove that option, no more error. Any ideas?

Forum is http://mustangfanatic.com/forum

Fatal error: Call to undefined function log_vbulletin_error() in /public_html/forum/includes/functions_log_error.php on line 6412

EDIT: nevermind. It appears I had an older version of garage_func_var.php. I updated to the newer one and I did what you told the other guy to do a few posts ago and it seems to be working fine :)

cdoyle 12-18-2013 01:26 AM

Do any coders here have the desire to try and come up with an updated garage type system?

This one hasn't been updated in over a year, there is only support on his site if you pay for the full version. So really this version isn't supported anymore.

I would love to see a garage system, where users can submit build logs as they go. Where you can see the history of a car as it's been worked on/restored.

Any VB modders and or forum owners able to try?
