ok so special characters are working in whatever is typed. but people who have special characters ihn their names it doesnt show.

example:
#16:59 B�cky> says Bécky

When someone posts a message, it shows up as..

(username) message (username)

Why is that?

Just installed this, and I'm getting:
at the top of the forums.

This plugin completely shut down the host server >_>, with tons of SQL errors.

What do you mean by "-Set usergroup permissions" and should I add only {SHOUTBOX} or <!-- {SHOUTBOX} --> ? But the <!-- --> is so the browser won't read the code right? I can't understabnd what you mean by -set usergroup permissions, what should I change? and when I add the {SHOUTBOX} it only appears like that, nothing more.

Any chance to see some font/color changing functions, smileys and all that in this?

Is there anyway to change the title on this box from 'GSCOS' to 'SHOUTBOX' so that most of my users know what it is?

Can this be limited to one specific forum?

How do you turn off GCBOS in the "Who's online" so it shows where members are not that they are always in GCBOS?

go to admin styles place the code <! - {SHOUTBOX} -> in the following template ad_global_below_navbar , save and ready will look at all the blogs, cms and subforums ..greetings

I have installed this on 4.1.3 and it seems to work really well.

*i take that back.. it actually went quite haywire.. the chat box started scrolling mysql errors.

anybody know how to get this mod to work with Android Phones? GCBOS seems to only be having issues with the Android phones and nothing else. We had a code to make it work on our previous version of GCBOS but have since lost it. Thanks.

Great mod! I wanted to invert the message order (put input field on top and messages will appear below), but I only managed to reverse the display order of the messages. However when I post a new message, it gets appended below and because my lack of javascript knowledge, I do not know how to change that :)

How would I do that?

Hello, I´ve used this fantastic chatbox the past years, but now when I´ve updated the vb4 from version 4 to 4.20, the chatbox disappeared ! Please help anybody!

I've loved this GCBOS ever since I saw it on a forum I modded a few years back, and I've always used this on my vB4 forums.
Both yes and no. Yes, if you edit it. No, if you just install it as is.

If you install it now, it WILL give you the error "Call-time-pass-by-reference has been removed from line 125 in public_html/root_folder/includes/class_gcbos.php"

However there's an easy quickfix for this.
Go into line 125 in class_gcbos.php. It'll say
All you need to do is find "&$output" and remove "&" from it. Then it'll look like this;

Which works fine on my forum.

Now you might encounter "Function split() is deprecated in gcbos.php on line 109"

Another quickfix is available for this. Go into gcbos.php on that line, and replace "split" with "explode".
/help doesn't work, but everything else should work fine. (Note, I haven't tried all the commands yet, but I assume that they work as /me, /prune and /notice works)
