Has anyone else had problems with people registering when their language does not equal the base language???

Having the paid version, it's sometime frustrating not having access to your own web site to see if there are some new updates, or so. This is what I often get recently.

Yes I saw this. It happens for 2 days and I already send message to my host provider. Waiting for response what they did to the server and when they will correct it. Please be patience It is not up to me right now and I have to wait myself for response. I also hope that it will be solved very soon.

But there might be a question applying to both free and paid (for the phrases part) version so I'll ask it here.

I tried translating the phrases for languages in order for them to display in my own language and it does not work.

For example, I translated these:
vbenterprisetranslator_cache_fr and vbenterprisetranslator_flag_fr but nothing changed anywhere, either for the flags or in the profile and registration.

What does I have to use to translate them in order to have the flag descriptions translated in my own language?

Just one quick announcement, because I have kind of issue...

Right now vBET forum is down. I turn it off since there where issues with server load. Those issues have something common with my hosting provider (still 503 Server overloaded happens even if booth my forums are shut down and doing nothing). So I have to wait for reaction. Till now reactions was not helpful and issue still exists. We have night right now, so I assume that in next 12 hours nothing change in this area.

I know that some of you could wait till the last day to buy vBET in promotion. Because today vBET forum was off we will make promotion 1 week longer after our host provider find out what is wrong with server. Please note that it is not normal way of dealing with promotions - usually end is the end, but we also have unusual situation here and we want to keep our users satisfied.

Great sorry for all the troubles and I will made another announcement when everything will be OK. Till then I will take no activity here as I have bigger issue right now - hope you understand it :)

It is not needed. If you are banned, then Google will set it off very fast after everything will be cleared with theme. Please see here:

vBET forum is up again. We hope that the issue was solved correctly. Our provider will not tell us what happened still claimed that it was our fault, but is not able to say in which way. Anyway - right now it is on. If issues will come back we will move our forum somewhere else.

Once again great sorry for troubles - hope it will not happen again and because it happens at the end of promotion we made it 1 week longer from now :)

I suggest kindly that you change your provider to a robust VPS service like Slicehost or Linode. Since your new forum is not yet very busy, you can get very good VPS hosting for about $20 USD a month and easily upgrade when you grow at the click of a mouse.

Slicehost has great customer service. Linode is more oriented toward platform performance. However, both are recommended by many people. We use both for various tasks, so I'm speaking from experience as a customer of both.

The forum is reachable sometimes but so slow...

mmhh today google dropped nearly all my basic language pages from index.:(

All the translated and indexed sites are still available.
Dropped from 5.700 to 1.400.
Is there a rule at google, that it's forbidden to get translated pages to the index?

This happens all the time, especially if you don't set up your sitemap parameters properly.

I think you will find people OK with this regarding the free version. However, how do you intend to support people who paid for your software? I don't think they will be very understanding and your business could suffer dramatically by not supporting your customers who paid for your software.

Both of these mods operate on similar principles and technologies and both increase traffic in similar ways.

This mod is more actively supported, more in compliance with Google's TOS for using their API, has more features, is faster, more efficient and won MOTM.

This mod also has URL rewriting features built-in that permits you to remove the dynamic language query string and place it in the URL, which many people (include me) believe it is more SEO friendly.

On the other hand, a number of us also use the other mod because of it's simplicity, and we added the required code for Google's TOS (Google attribution, 15 day or less translation cache clearing, referral headers and optional Google API keys) and better SEO (URL rewrites using Apache mod_rewrite) ourselves because the developer of the other mod could not / would not support us. At one time the developer of the other mod was disappointed with the community and pulled his mod, leaving all of us, even those who donated to his generous work, completely abandoned. NLP-er came to our rescue, in a manner of speaking; and listened to the community and worked very hard to add all the features the community requested. That is one of the main reason's he has such strong support.

So, if you want support, features and are not a developer, and want to be in compliance with Google very clear API Terms and Conditions, I suggest you go with this mod. If you want something more lightweight, smaller footprint, less supported, and not compliant with Google's TOS out-of-the-box, then go with the other mod.

Just another question, would it be ok if I run both mods? I'm guessing not since multiple urls for same language isnt good?

And, what if I uninstall the other mod? those urls will disappear right? (because obviously you don't want them to stay on there) and this mod generates more engine search related results than the other one?

EDIT: And I was looking at the demo and noticed that the urls for each language are yoursite.com/language , so if someone like me, who uses google analytics , how would I go about filtering out these languages so that I can look at the results to see how much visitors this translator is generating me through search engines?

SMall problem using VBSEO Sitemap Generator every time I submit my sitemap I get this error from Google any idea why ? I do not even see those as URLS in the index or the 1st sitemap

I just bought your "unreleased version" Hope you can get it working ASAP for Blogs and Articles on vB40 Publish... that would be a serious gift. Has anyone experience how the indexed pages rank on foreign google searches?
E.g. i have with my forum a no. 1 position with a keyword in my basic language. So I thought it would be nearly the same in other languages and the traffic would explode. But just a very slightly increasing of traffic from foreign countrys.
Does it just takes time to climb in the SERPS or is more realistic, that i won't get a good ranking in foreign language google search?
Just thinking aloud, maybe someone measured that with prof. tools.
