EST... on next version? :)

deep breath... :D

DoMiN8ToR 11-28-2007 10:29 AM

I saw it already in some posts, but I would also like to add a vote for multi-currency support! :)

MiskaTorn 11-28-2007 07:36 PM

This is kind of an off question. I like this sytem a lot and want to use it but not for auctioning. I know thats what it was made for, I was wondering if I could disable the auctioning and keep the buy now prices? Thanks

You could select "Buy Now" for each item you want to sell.
If you need to disable the other options (e.g. to open this toolfor all users) you can edit the Template 'vbay_new_auction'. Just Delete The Options you dont need and add checked="checked" to
Code:

<input name='type' type='radio' value='buyitnow'>

exstatic 11-29-2007 06:10 PM

Is there any way to create a custom form template? so that you can make your own fields, and display them the way you want on the auction?

Also, is there any way to remove the shipping options?

AWJunkies 12-02-2007 12:35 AM

Also when someone posts in the wrong category in the ACP there should be an option to move it to the correct one. Great mod!

Lacessit 12-02-2007 11:48 PM

First, awesome mod! but I'm starting to feel like an idiot.. but can someone tell a me where/how to edit the vbay_main to replace:
Quote:

Looks like you have successfully installed VBay! I hope you enjoy it!

This page can be edited by editing the vbay_main phrase :) To do list:
Trader reputation
Buy it now feature
with a custom message? I've opened vbay_main under templates, but can't find the text to replace (yes I'm new to all of this).

Thanks in advance.

[edit]
..and as long as we're at it perhaps you could tell me how to edit the PM text as well.
Thanks

maidos 12-03-2007 12:19 PM

will sellers have reputation like on ebay?
like have percentage of negative/positive

and add credit card payment too

AWJunkies 12-03-2007 01:31 PM

Also are missing PM integration so if you win an auctioned good it PMs or Emails the person who won.

africanw 12-05-2007 12:17 AM

Hi,

Must be missing something as the image upload part does not work. I select an image for upload and submit with no errors but it never shows?

Any ideas?

DOH!! Ignore this was a noob.

exstatic 12-05-2007 07:09 AM

Does anyone know how to show the latest listings on the main vbay page? instead of;

'.. Looks like you have successfully installed VBay! I hope you enjoy it! ..'

Blaine0002 12-05-2007 05:24 PM

like it says, edit the vbay_main phrase :)

S7rik3R 12-06-2007 11:53 AM

Installed ... good job

petacat 12-07-2007 02:49 AM

hello. This is something that I am looking for as a key integration into a gamserver site.

The idea is that players trade ingame items for VbCredits (our choice of "loyalty" reward) rather than real money. We DO NOT want real money changing hands.

ATM, players advertise items in regular forum threads and conduct clumsy auctions and negotiations there. A real auction that uses VBCredits seems a superior thing to have.

The credits are earned by doing the right thing in the forums and helping out - as well as just using them

I am aware that they guys over at VBCredits are keen to have more integrations and I know that there is a market for this kind of thing.

For various reasons, it is worth paying for if it works.

Love to hear if you think this is feasible

Blaine0002 12-07-2007 05:25 PM

eventually i will integrate virtual money in as well as real money :)

proxx 12-07-2007 10:12 PM

I think the key for this to be really someone awesome is to integrate it with VBPlaza/vbbux , is there a chance? I would like my users to buy/sell things, but not for real money.

tanker300 12-08-2007 05:23 AM

Hi, I am installing now, where do we add vbay link? What code do we add to navbar to link to this after upload

Blaine0002 12-08-2007 01:32 PM

It should automaticly install unless you are using a custom template, if so look under the vbay_navbar_edit, and theres your code :)

Hi Blaine, I installed v117 and first let me say GREAT program and addon! Unfortunately I am running into a few issues perhaps you can tell me where I am missing something or can it be changed.

Post a new ad - Step 1:

- When posting a new ad, you can't change the font. Not a show stopper, but some folks like to emphasize.

- When posting a new ad, we are running a local vBay and there is no shipping... what if a seller is seeling something that is pickup only. The shipping should not be required, as it is now.

Step 2:

- Bid increment is set for minimum of $1. Any way to make that lower... such as .25?

- Again, it is requiring a shipping cost... and it won't let you go forward until you enter something.

Can you help please? Also, any chance of making sub-categories? No big deal, just easier to organize... And perhaps an easy way for the admin to change anything and everything on any ad...

Blaine0002 12-09-2007 01:12 PM

all of these have been looked at and will be included in the next version :)

Hi and thanks for the quick reply... Do you have any idea when the next release will be posted?

MiahBeSmokin420 12-11-2007 06:04 PM

sorry wrong place wrong thing

exstatic 12-11-2007 06:32 PM

Is it possible to show the top 10 recent auctions on the main vbay page? Like can we add it in vbay_main some how?

edytwinky 12-12-2007 06:14 PM

How do you make it to where unregistered and non-logged in members cannot see this?

bosal 12-14-2007 06:10 PM

This script supports memcache ?

gizabo 12-14-2007 10:14 PM

wait what file should it to? Is there any instructions u can give me? :-D

StepOnFrog 12-15-2007 02:16 AM

This is actually a great idea, that I'm sorry I've only just come across. :-(

My question to the designer is this: is there any way of adding to the vBay, or making vBay, a swapshop facility (ie, not bidding with money, but offering items in exchange for something)?

For example, say I would like to swap my PS3 for something; I want to be able to have people offering their items in exchange for my item... say someone else wants to offer an XBox 360 with 7 million games for my PS3, or someone else wants to offer me a 15000 inch HDTV with 901.3 surround sound system...

Not that those items would probably ever be exchanged/swapped, or that some of them would ever exist, but you get the general idea...?

Is there any way of incorporating a swapshop in this vBay?

Thanks in advance for a reply.
:-D

Before I receive a bundle of abuse from everyone, on how a swapshop wouldn't be a viable thing to have on the internet:---
Yes, I understand that this whole swapshop thing would be done purely on trust, in that without payment (ie, paypal) would probably encourage people to not swap, but steal from one another. However, this request/possibility is just a thought as at present, a simple part of something else, that, really, would have no meaning here; just the idea of a swapshop, the ability to swap items, rather than sell items for cash, is what I'm interested in.

bosal 12-15-2007 06:40 AM

Why there is no option like:
I don't need enter adress to enter aucions, or i can define requested fileds
When I'm selling anything on the internet i don't need to define shipping costs, or can enter cost=0
I don't want to users publish images
Why can't i specyfie countries that i ship it to it.

bosal 12-15-2007 06:45 AM

few more things - subcategories needed

Filtering only by the users location (city). I want to buy something from guy from my city but don't wnat to see all this auctions

I am absolutely clueless what you are asking and your question makes no sense. Try re-writing and explain what you are asking.

angelsbabies 12-21-2007 10:05 PM

I have a question about the bidding increments. I added this to my board and when I went to post an auction it wouldn't let me put in like .25 or .50 for bidding increment. I had to use 1.00.

Is is possible to use a lower amount than $1.00? Can someone help me with how to do that if it IS possible?

TIA

csquare016 12-23-2007 12:39 AM

Hi, this is a very nice and organized mod! I installed on a test board and works great with no problems! Setup in no time! I just had one question. For shipping, is there anyway to not charge for shipping or to use digital delivery of some sort? thanks for any help!

FAB-U-LOUS! Install was a breeze; working beautifully - such fun! I should have known it was Blaine! :D You totally rock my forum! :D:up:

ezurick 12-23-2007 10:41 AM

PurpleButterfly and csquare016... your questions were answered very recently in this thread... It is wise to read at least the latest posts before posting your questions. It gets annoying repeating things...

To answer, the author is aware of the $1.00 limit and the shipping requirement... and these will all be fixed in the next release... Don't ask when, cause I already asked that... and heard the earth stand stil.... ;)

Blaine0002 12-23-2007 01:43 PM

I am working on upgrading my mods to 3.7.0 so i will be releasing that version and an updated version for 3.6 soon.

xcesiv 12-23-2007 10:11 PM

does this work with the Itrader Mod and can Vbay be restricted to Usergroups, Or can there be a user charge per item advertised or sold

It is also wise to be sure you are addressing the correct people. ;) All I did was give kudos to Blaine cause he is da' man! :D It's also nice to help people when you can, without telling them they are annoying. That gets annoying. :p
