Hey Paul....Are you working on a 3.7 release of this mod?
|
There will be one yes.
|
Is this thing on? :erm:
22 Dec 2007, 08:36 MoviePropCollec Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Posts: 6 Design: Blue Lagoon I am very new to all of this. Exactly what are the steps to instal this? Install Flashchat, ticking the option to integrate with a CMS (on the first page where file permissions are checked) What in the world does that mean? I read the instructions and have no idea what they are talking about. Thank you kindly. |
Yes this 'thing' is on - and as the firstpost says, this is not a Flashchat support forum. If you want help installing FC then you need to goto the Tufat forums, a link is in the main post.
|
Has anyone figured out how to modify the integration to work with the ajax skin?
My members are revolting over the default smilies and this skin moves them from flash files into network storage as .gifs Instructions say that you should point to /chat/ajax/index.php but I can't figure out how to get chat/flashchat.php to recognize it in the integration. |
Flashchat integration does not work with the ajax skin.

I know this is straying off topic a little, but I figured this would be the best place to find coders who know how to tweak Flashchat. I bought the module pack for Flashchat and I have been trying to get web radio working for 2 days now to no avail. I give up. During that time I figured it would be easier to embed a player set to 1 radio station. The problem is, I have tried everything and can't find the proper place to put the HTML so the player shows up in the chat. Any coders out there who can give me a hand with this? Here is the example code:
HTML Code:
<EMBED SRC="http://www.web-radio.com/stream.cfm?id=789" VOLUME="99" HEIGHT="60" WIDTH="144"> |
You need to ask this on the flashchat forums.

My users cannot use the chat because it tells them they are banned, this is of course using the feature that auto logs them in with their forum account.
I am pretty sure its a problem with the CMS file, because I do not use the traditional usergroups. Anyways my question is where is the CMS file located? ( or whatever file is used to designate certain users permission to login ) |
Are you using this modification ?
|
Nevermind, I apologize. I found the CMS inside of the uhh....i think it was the inc then under cmses
/forum/inc/cmses/vbulletin35.cms or something similiar to that ( for anyone with same problem ) |

Cheers! |
What more does this hack offer over the intergration that comes with the flashchat install?
|
Why not read the main post ............
|
Installed- Thx, Charles
|
Is there a way when a user want to use the FlashChat, it can be set to open up in a PopUp?
Thanks:) |
My prime proble is that when I try to open chat a it:
Load setting OK load chat main window ok starting chat system... Then I only get a glue screen with no content. I tried to load the /chat/admin/index.php but it gives me the error: vBulletin 3.6.x : Integration Error 03 : No permissions set for usergroup 6. Does anyone know what I did wrong?? |

Yes I did that. Actually I made a reinstall and now I do get a bit further. I can now go into the chat pannel (normal user).
But I still cannot login to the Admin Panel. I get the following error: PHP Warning: fetch(d:\Domains\domain.com\wwwroot\forum\chat\inc/../templates/templates_c\%%AC^AC1^AC1385FF%%admin_index.tpl.php ) [function.fetch]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in d:\Domains\domain.com\wwwroot\forum\chat\inc\smart y\Smarty.class.php on line 1251 PHP Warning: fetch(d:\Domains\domain.com\wwwroot\forum\chat\inc/../templates/templates_c\%%AC^AC1^AC1385FF%%admin_index.tpl.php ) [function.fetch]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in d:\Domains\domain.com\wwwroot\forum\chat\inc\smart y\Smarty.class.php on line 1251 PHP Warning: fetch() [function.include]: Failed opening 'd:\Domains\domain.com\wwwroot\forum\chat\inc/../templates/templates_c\%%AC^AC1^AC1385FF%%admin_index.tpl.php ' for inclusion (include_path='.;d:\php\includes') in d:\Domains\domain.com\wwwroot\forum\chat\inc\smart y\Smarty.class.php on line 1251 All the rest seems to work just fine. I can login in VBulletin and then go to /chat/flashchat.php and I can chat away. I would very appreciate if one has an idea how I can access the admin panel Thank!! |
Looks like you need to make the templates_c folder writable (chmod 777).
|
Thanks for the mod.
I'm not sure whether to perform step 3 or not. What exactly does this option do? |
Redirects them back to the index page if they click on Flashchats logout button.
|
I get the same error:
My prime proble is that when I try to open chat a it: Load setting OK load chat main window ok starting chat system... Then I only get a glue screen with no content. I can access the Flashchat admin panel okay but whenever I try and run flashchat, either direct or via my forum, I get this - these loading messages then a blank screen with no content. The "Starting chat..." message seems to jump out at 30%. Re-installed twice and still the same error. Any ideas? |
As the first post says ;

With all due respect mate - there is no way I would give these details out to anyone. Cant you offer some advice on how to fix the problem when all you get in a blank background with no content? |
There are so many things that can cause that. JFYI, I have fixed many tens of forums who have given me such details over the years. If you choose not to then there is nothing I can do for you.
|
Could it be the Java server side?
|
I didnt do it right, can someone tell what to do? I DL'ed the said files and nothing happened.
Thanks |
When you upgrade to vBChat 4.8.3 do you still use the vbulletin36CMS.php that comes along with this mod or do you used the upgraded vbulletin36CMS.php that is included with FlashChat 4.8.3?
I'm using vBulletin 3.6.8 patch II. |
If you are using this mod then you must use the vbulletin36CMS.php file that comes with this.
|
The problem is that I do not find where to place my additional usergroupid numbers in this new included version of vbulletin36CMS.php
The stock version of vbulletin36CMS.php has the following... Code:
// Usergroup Definitions EDIT +++++++++++++++++++ Good grief I found it! I'm not used to all these modern conveniences like having "FlashChat Permissions" in my ACP usergroups. AARRRGGGHHH!!! I feel dumb. Thanks for the excellent work Paul. +++++++++++++++++++++++ Can anyone take a stab at explaining the difference between "No Chat Access" and "Banned From Chat"? Are the results the same, but only with different connotation? I think my original deal of adding an additional Subscriber privilege group in /inc/layouts just got more complicated, at least to me... http://forum.tufat.com/showthread.php?t=26597 |

Although noone is in the chat it seems not refreshing and displays many people inside chatrooms. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance for help.
|
I had this hack installed with no problems sometime ago. I uninstalled it, now I've reinstalled it. The only usergroups that seem to be able to access the chat is usergroup 2, 6, 7, and 5, althought I have usergroup permissions configured in the specfic usergroups.
I'm at a loss, any suggestions would be greatly appericated. |
Are you sure you re-installed the CMS file from this mod, not the default flashchat supplied file.
|
I got a "Invalid File Specified" when I have tried to upload the xml file via the cp. Any ideas?
|
would someone mind PMing me the descriptions for flaschat permissions?
Specifically "No Chat Access" and "User Level Access"... What is the difference? I want to let people come in and lurk in flaschat, but not post messages... how do I do that? |
No access is exactly that, they cannot enter the chat. User access means they can enter and chat. There is no "lurk" option.
