This is done with this mod (Advanced Application Forms), you have this option in AdminCP.

Go to Application Positions, choose position you want to have applications created in thread as new posts.

Use this options:
Report in Existing Thread set to yes
Existing Thread ID you need to have this thread already created, but this isn't problem. ThreadID is number with which vB describes thread, you can get it from link of that thread.

For example, this is link from your forum: http://www.immihelp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96101

I bolded and colored thread ID. Of course, you can create any new thread and anywhere, just take thread ID and put it there.

Poster ID - You could use this, or not (I leave it at 0).

Anyway, look at instructions what every option does, it's explained in detail.

Also note that in the same time you could use more options simultaneously i.e. you could create new thread, post new post in existing thread, post PM, send e-mail... Check options and decide what suites you best.

Ok, I got idea and checked were the problem might be. :)

Problem is when using color for answers (Application Answer Color). I used color red (I'm pretty sure that actual color isn't important, but just to mention it). And after that links aren't parsed. Removed color from options, links get parsed.

So, when using color, it somehow influences parsing of links.

I would look into it, but I did try both with and without the color option and it parsed both ways...

So far as the color itself, I tried #FF0000, FF0000 and the word red. All worked and all parsed the url.

EDIT: I see the problem now. If an answer color is defined and the URL is the only thing in the answer, it doesn't parse. The fix will be uploaded later today.

You're fast, it's amazing. Really exceptional support.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I was testing with only links as an answer. Needless to say, now everything works fine.

Hi this is a great addition to any site. I have just upgraded to the latest version and all works great... I have just two quick questions.

1 Is it possible not to show the IP address of the member in the posts? when you sumit to the thread.

2 and I know this is a bit off topic and I'm sure I'll be told that it wasn't built to do this but would you think about adding the option of having running list of user/member who have submitted in the post? A sort of tally.

Many thanks

A

ACP->Settings->Options->Application Form Settings

Set Include IP Addresses in Reports to 'No'.

I'll put it on the wish list. That doesn't mean it will ever get added, but it gives me an idea of what people want.

Be sure you have given yourself permission to view the application type and application position.

Here is a troubleshooting flowchart that might help.

so when i upload all the files inside the upload folder to my ftp html file. i am doing this right i dont have to add the files in upload to the place on my ftp that they are named ex admincp files inside to admincp. i upload the whole folder admincp to the pubic_html. correcct? i aske this because the directions say >>> Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forum's root. "my ftp public_html"

nhawk 01-25-2012 09:21 PM

Wherever your forum is located.

So if your forum is located directly in the HTML folder on your server, that would be correct.

If your forum is in a sub-folder such as HTML/forums, you would upload the files to the forums folder.
